Sweden: Celebrating Falun Dafa Day in Lerum (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) Sunday 30th of January was the third annual Falun Dafa Day in Lerum. Lerum is a relatively small community outside Gothenburg. When Falun Dafa Day was first proclaimed on the 30th of January 2003, Bengt Hörnlund, Member of the City Council and Chairman of the Youth Commission of the Health Council, expressed his support for the Falun Dafa practitioners who are being persecuted in China. Practitioners in Lerum received a beautifully inscribed proclamation that expressed appreciation and encouragement. (See the

The 2005 Lerum Falun Dafa Day fell on a Sunday. In Lerum town center, a lot of shops close on Sundays so the practitioners met outside the Water Palace where there is a big swimming pool, gym and healthcare facilities. Lots of people pass by this area on Sundays.

The practitioners from Lerum and nearby places celebrated Lerum Falun Dafa Day and demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. They displayed a big banner to let everyone know that it was Lerum Falun Dafa Day.

A local newspaper reporter came and took photos for a report on the activity. The Falun Gong practitioners who took part all felt that people's reactions were positive and they wanted to know more about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution that is happening in China. Many people took leaflets and waited in a queue to sign the petition calling for an end to the persecution.
