(Clearwisdom.net) On February 12, 2005, practitioners from various places
in Washington State participated in the grand Chinese New Year celebration held
at Union Station in Seattle's Chinatown. Under the invitation of the host
organization, practitioners had an exhibit booth and presented a stage
performance. Practitioners explained the facts of Falun Dafa while teaching visitors to
fold paper lotus flowers. People stepped up to the booth and asked for
truth-clarification literature and paper lotus flowers. On the stage, several
practitioners performed dances and conducted an exercise demonstration. Tens of thousands of people attended the celebration. Crowds of people filled
the large hall with a holiday atmosphere. The practitioners' booth caught the
attention of the visitors and was warmly welcomed. Many young teenagers came
over to learn how to make paper lotus flowers. One woman said, after watching
practitioners teaching people how to make the lotus flowers, "Everyone has
freedom of belief. I'll take a good look at Falun Gong." During the celebration, 14 groups of Asian-Americans performed their
traditional programs on stage. Practitioners conducted an exercise demonstration
and performed the dances, "Flower Fairy" and "Ode to the
Lotus." Two practitioners introduced Falun Dafa to the audience in English
and Cantonese, respectively. One Western practitioner gave New Year's greetings
to the audience in Chinese and won warm applause. After the performance, women
practitioners in pink costumes distributed flowers to the audience, leading to a
high point in the celebration.
