Since May 14, 2004, practitioners from Fusong County, Jilin Province, including Ms. Yin Jun, Mr. Li Zongyun, Ms. Wang Xiuyun from Lushuihe, and Mr. Wang Zhiping from Quanyang, have been arrested and brutally beaten for their belief.

It has been reported that Mr. Li Zongyun, Mr. Gao Han (in his thirties) and Ms. Yin Jun (in her twenties) are in critical condition at the Fusong County Police Department. Ms. Yin was also secretly sentenced to prison ten days ago.

Upon receiving specific reports, officials from the Laishui County 610 Office arrested several Falun Dafa practitioners in Lihuangfu Village, Laishui Cuonty, Hebei Province. The practitioners include Ms. Xu Xinying, Ms. Zhao Xiuling, and Ms. Zhang Guirong. Officers from the Yi'an Town Police Station in Laishui County ransacked the practitioners' homes. Ms. Xu Xinying's elderly family members, in their eighties, have been left unattended.

Around January 13, 2005, Wang Dezhu from the Dingxing County 610 Office in Hebei Province and Li Xianguo, the Yangcun Village Party Secretary, led police officers to place Ms. Zhang Suju under arrest. The police confiscated one copy machine and all the Falun Dafa materials found in the house.

Police have arrested Ms. Song Jinxiu from Wuhan City, Hubei Province. She was on her way to Huangpi County to visit her mother who is in her eighties. Ms. Song has been secretly sent to the Wuhan City Women's and Children's Corrective Institute for custody.

Recently, Ms. Li Yuyan and her husband were arrested at their home in Shanghai. In addition, several practitioners from the Xuhui District have been arrested. They include Ren Lindi, Ms. Yao Lanying, Ms. Wu Yuefang, Ms. Lu Peizhen, Ms. Rong Huijun and two practitioners whose names are not known.

In October 2004, four or five practitioners were held at the Qingpu Legal Education School in Shanghai, including Ms. Shen Shumei who lives at Lingshijing in the Zhabei District of Shanghai, Ms. Zhang Shuying, and Ms. Zhang Ying who lives in the Baoshan District. The other practitioners' names are not available.

In 2004, police received reports that Ms. Shen Shumei and Ms. Zhang Shuying were clarifying the truth in the Changning District. Officers from the local police station arrested them and took them to a local detention center. After being detained for eighteen days, Ms. Shen was sent to the Qingpu Legal Education School for brainwashing by personnel from the 610 Office and held there from September 23 to October 22. Ms. Zhang Shuying's situation is not known. Ms. Zhang Ying managed to escape from the school with the power of her righteous thoughts.

Ms. Zhao Yanxia is from Taipingzhuang Township in Jianping County, Liaoning Province. A few days ago, five officers from the Taipingzhuang Police Station forcibly took her into custody. Ms. Zhao is presently being held at the Jianping County No. 2 Detention Center.

On January 17, 2005, over a dozen practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Zhihong, Ms. Yang Yuting, and Ms. Song Yunling, were arrested in front of the Tianjin City Public Security and Detention Center. They are being held at the Dongli District Detention Center. All have remained on a hunger strike, protesting this unlawful arrest.

Ms. Xia Ruimin is from Dongxuegezhuang Village in Taishitun Town, Miyun County, Beijing. On December 31 she was arrested at her home. The perpetrators included Wang Xinzhong, head of the Taishitun 610 Office, as well as more than twenty officers from the county's state security unit and from the local police station. Ms. Xia's whereabouts remain unknown. Ms. Liu Guilan was arrested the same day. Her whereabouts are also unknown.

Mr. Luo Xiang received his doctorate degree in the Philosophy Department at Peking University. He was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor for his belief in Falun Gong. He resumed his Ph. D. program after being released, and graduated in July 2003. Mr. Luo applied to several universities after graduation for lecturing posts. Officials in some of these universities appreciated Mr. Luo's expertise and promised to hire him upon interviewing him. Unfortunately, when they dispatched human resource staffers to Peking University to pull Mr. Luo's personal records, they turned down his application on the basis of his belief in Falun Gong as documented in the university's records

Since graduation a year ago, Mr. Luo Xiang is still looking everywhere for a teaching position.

Mr. Zhu Yuxiang from Zhonggong Street in the Tiexi District, Shenyang City was arrested on January 24, 2005 while distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying cards in the streets. He is being held at the Tiexi District Police Department.

According to reliable sources, Mr. Yan Sen, a retired teacher from the No. 159 Middle School in the Xicheng District was arrested at his home on January 19, 2005. Members of the school's 610 Office and police officers broke into and ransacked his home, confiscating a printer and all Falun Dafa books.

Recently, Ms. Guo Xiulan, Ms. Guo Xiuqin and Ms. Wang Xiaofeng from the Shengli Commune in Hailun City were arrested after police received reports that they were distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Guo Xiulan and Guo Xiuqin are being held at the No. 1 Detention Center, and Wang Xiaofeng is held at the No. 2 Detention Center.

Around 3:00 p.m. on January 22, 2005, Pei Zhiyong, head of the security section of the Dongyue Branch Police Department in Shiyan City, led eight police officers to break into the home of Ms. Zhang Hongwei and Shang Zhongxian. When the two practitioners refused to open the door, the officers smashed the door open. The ransacked the place and forcibly dragged Ms. Zhang and Ms. Shang into a police vehicle and took them to a brainwashing center. A two-year-old toddler was left at home unattended. The baby was crying while the door was left open.
