Nine Falun Dafa Practitioners in One Family Are Persecuted -- Eighty-Year-Old Grandmother Dies of Grief

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhang Tongyan was 80 years old and lived in Xiaopu Village, Shenze County, Hebei Province. Nine members of her family practice Falun Dafa. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, local police and the County 610 Office workers constantly came to her home to search for Falun Dafa materials and to terrorize and intimidate the family. Her eldest son and youngest daughter are currently being held in labor camps. Her second and third sons were detained by the authorities, and the third son was tortured to death in 2002. Ms. Zhang's three daughters-in-law have been detained as well. The police have extorted more than 20,000 yuan from the family. On February 19, 2004, the heartbroken Ms. Zhang passed away.
