By a Dafa practitioner in Xinjiang

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhong Jianping from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region was illegally sentenced to nine years of incarceration and is undergoing cruel persecution in Xinjiang No. 5 Prison. In January 2005, Zhong Jianping started to experience high fever and total body edema, however, the authorities still kept torturing him. Now his life is in peril. The following is his story:

At the end of February 2001, Zhong Jianping coordinated the effort to mount truth-clarification broadcast systems in the main detention centers, forced labor camps and teams in Urumqi City and surrounding cities in Xinjiang. This helped practitioners and policemen in several forced labor camps and detention centers hear truthful news about Falun Gong. As some broadcast teams were spotted by police, more than 30 practitioners were arrested, and the police also monitored Zhong Jianping's living quarters. In the beginning of March 2001, the police arrested him at his residence and incarcerated him. He suffered all kinds of tortures and was illegally sentenced to nine years in the No. 5 prison.

Around November 2002, the formerly healthy Zhong Jianping was diagnosed as having pleurisy as a result of the torture. The guards in the No. 5 Prison did not provide him with proper treatment. Instead, they forced him to do heavy labor and continued to torture him.

We have learned that since about January 2005 he again started to have a high fever and his whole body was swollen. This has gone on for over a month. As before, he is denied medical treatment. He is forced to continue heavy labor while enduring frequent torture.

Zhong Jianping's father, Zhong Dinggao, has not tried to stop the crimes of these policemen. In fact, he has connived with them in order to protect himself. Some practitioners have clarified truth to his father, but the father still will not help him.

Though Zhong Jianping's younger sister is sympathetic, she has taken this passively and is unwilling to get involved. Zhong Jianping also has two brothers, but they only want to protect themselves and are indifferent to Zhong Jianping's sufferings.
