Gao Rongrong: Severely Punish Those Who Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners, Restore Justice to the People, Part 1 (Photo) By Falun Gong Practitioner Gao Rongrong in China
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gao Rongrong, 36, previously worked in the
accounting department at the Luxun College of Fine Arts, Shenyang City, Liaoning
Province. She was subjected to continuous persecution for persisting in her
Falun Gong practice. Most recently, she was unlawfully detained in the Longshan
Forced Labor Camp. In early May of 2004, Tang Yubao, deputy head of the labor
camp's No. 2 Division and other guards shocked Gao Rongrong with electric batons
on her face for six to seven hours, which eventually disfigured her. On October
5, 2004, with the help of righteous people, Gao Rongrong escaped from Room 0533
at the No. 1 Hospital affiliated with the China Medical University in Shenyang
City. This ended five-months of detention after suffering torture and
disfigurement. The following is her plea and petition statement. In July 1999, out of jealousy, Jiang Zemin started the persecution of over
100 million Falun Gong practitioners who believe in
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." Jiang Zemin manipulated all
state owned resources, including all levels of Party committees, government
branches and the 610 Office branches that were set up to persecute
Falun Gong. He lured lawless scoundrels to provide criminal assistance, and
formed a coordinated body of persecutors, from the CCP's Central Committee down
to local police stations and local community offices. The persecutions spread
all over the country without missing any corners. Jiang's scoundrel regime made use of all state controlled media to slander
and frame the founder of Falun Gong and masses of Falun Gong practitioners. The
persecutors continually fabricate all kinds of stories to frame and slander
Falun Gong, of which the "Tiananmen Self-immolation" is a typical case
which tried to stir up people's hatred toward Falun Gong. Jiang's policy,
"Destroy them physically, defame their reputations, bankrupt them
financially" has been implemented to brutally persecute and murder
practitioners. Therefore, I appeal to all legal organizations and related branches in the
world, including just legal departments and individuals in China: Please help to
investigate all the persecutions of Falun Gong practitioners according to the
law. Help correct the wrongdoings, punish those responsible, and stop the
persecution in order to maintain the world's morality, justice and conscience. Here are my requests for my petition and plea: My name is Gao Rongrong. I was born on February 1, 1968. In 1990, I graduated
with a major in industrial accounting from the accounting department of Shenyang
College of Finance and Economics. After that I worked in the Luxun College of
Fine Arts, first in the auditing department and then in the accounting
department. In 1996, I read a book called Zhuan Falun. From the book I started to
understand the true meaning of life. From then on I followed the principles of
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, to be a good person, a person with higher
moral standards. The cultivation of Falun Gong taught me to work more seriously
and diligently, and treat people with more kindness and honesty. I had a good
reputation among the leaders and colleagues. I didn't compete for recognition or
personal interests. One time, the work unit decided to bestow "Excellent
Staff" awards but found more people had been granted the award than could
be given out. I volunteered to give up mine. The following is what I have suffered under the persecution since 1999. My
personal case illustrates the illegitimacy and evil nature of this persecution. Falun Gong practitioner Gao Rongrong I. Harassment at the Exercise Site, Being Fired from Work, and Being Arrested
for Appealing Beginning on April 25, 1999, the local police started to investigate all
local Falun Gong exercise sites. The exercise site at the Luxun College of Fine
Arts campus was also affected. Under pressure from higher authorities, the heads
of the college forbid us from doing the exercises on the campus. We continued
our exercises outside of the campus, along the road or in the residential
communities. The secretary from the college Party committee, people from the
human resources department, and the security department came to watch us. The
college Communist Youth League committee, the student community and the
propaganda department received inquiries and were criticized for "not
watching over our activities." I had been working in the auditing department at the Luxun College of Fine
Arts after I graduated from college. It was a sensitive department. Since I
practiced Falun Gong, the department decided not to keep me. The college leaders
had a talk with me after May 1, 1999 and requested that I not organize people to
do the exercises, a request I refused. Then I lost my job. On July 20, 1999, after learning that some local assistants were arrested and
their homes searched, I decided to appeal to the Liaoning Provincial Party
Committee. We were arrested and detained at the municipal stadium. Many
practitioners were detained at the stadium and some practitioners suffered
beatings. Later we were transferred to the district stadium and were released in
the evening. The next day, the college leaders talked to me until midnight. They wanted me
to guarantee to not go to Beijing to appeal. I refused to give such a promise. I wanted to appeal to the provincial Party Committee again but was arrested
on the way there. Once again I was detained in the stadium. Later, I was shocked
to see all the TV stations broadcasting the vicious propaganda programs, framing
the founder of Falun Gong and the Falun Gong practice. Since appealing locally
was impossible, I decided I had to go to Beijing for just reasons. That evening,
the work unit kept paging me from different phones, asking where I was. They
promised to pick me up, to assign me a job, and so on. The next day, all the
students in the college were called in to listen to a talk from the college
leaders. Some students were searched and their Falun Gong books were taken away. II. Being Arrested, Detained and Beaten in Beijing Three Times Between August and October 1999 I was unlawfully arrested in Beijing three
times. The first time I was in Tiananmen Square, a police officer came up and asked,
"Do you practice Falun Gong?" I answered, "Yes." I was
immediately taken away and sent to the Qianmen Police Station. Later, personnel
from the Liaoning Provincial Liaison Office in Beijing took me to the Jinshan
Hotel in Beijing. Police from Shenyang City tried to get information about the
whereabouts of other practitioners from me. I refused to tell them. They beat me
cruelly, yanked my hair, stepped on my neck and boxed my chest, which made my
chest hurt continuously for a week. I had to move slowly to get up or lay down.
I managed to escape as they were about to take me back to Shenyang. The second time, I was talking to someone at Tiananmen Square, when a police
officer came up and asked, "Do you practice Falun Gong?" I didn't
answer. In spite of this, they still arrested me and sent me to the Qianmen
Police Station. A police officer deceived me by saying, "We will let you go
if you tell us your name!" I believed him. I just walked away, not far, and
another police officer arrested me again. I was taken to the Liaoning Provincial
Liaison Office. They forbade me from wearing shoes to prevent me from escaping.
Later I was taken to the Danan Dispatch Station in Shenyang City and escaped
from there in the middle of the night. I was arrested the third time in Beijing just prior to October 1. Officers
from Shenyang City Police Department and from the Heping District Police
Department even beat my over-70-year-old father in order to find out where I
was. I was detained in the Shenyang Administration Detention Center (No. 5
Detention Center). Because of doing the exercises I was punished and had to
squat down in the office. They wanted to shock me but gave up when they couldn't
find any electric batons. To prevent us from going to Beijing on National Day (October 1), the police
wanted to detain us for an additional two weeks. We started a hunger strike to
protest. Several days later my work unit took me back and detained me at the
Lumei Middle School, located in a Shenyang City suburb. I continued the hunger
strike and was sent back home on the seventh day. The work unit had people
staying at my home to monitor me twenty-four hours a day. To get rid of this
harassment, I found an opportunity and left home. III. I was Arrested for Appealing at Tiananmen Square, and Locked Up and
Tortured in Both Beijing and Shenyang On October 26, 1999, I heard on the radio that Jiang Zemin viciously
slandered Falun Gong when he visited France. Seeing that as head of state Jiang
outwitted the law and facts and was so vicious and dictatorial, I decided to
redress the injustice toward Falun Gong. Because there was no place for us to
appeal, we Falun Gong practitioners had to go to Tiananmen Square to make our
voices heard. Before dawn, there were already police officers coming up to us,
inquiring if we were Falun Gong practitioners, and they started to arrest
people. Vehicle after vehicle full of practitioners were sent to the Qianmen
Police Station to be incarcerated in metal cages, where we were not even allowed
to use the toilet. Later we were transferred to Fengtai Stadium, and then
finally locked up in police stations and detention centers around Beijing. I was sent to the Xikezhan Detention Center in Beijing that same night, where
I was body searched and interrogated. Because everybody refused to report their
names, we were coded. The loudspeaker played back the slandering propaganda at
high volume. The police even employed dialect specialists to discern our home
districts from listening to our accents. The police officers from Lingyuan,
Liaoning Province mistook me for a resident of their district and beat me, to
force me to report my name. A heavy slap on the face made me unable to stand and
I fell against the blackboard on the wall. I held a hunger strike for 13 days and was force-fed by having a tube
inserted into my nose. The Dafa books I carried with me were taken away. In two
weeks, dozens of practitioners were taken back to their local places by their
local police officers, and only an older fellow practitioner and I were finally
left. One day, a male police reporter in his 30s came to the jail cell. At the
time, I was the only person locked up in that cell. He set up a tripod outside
the metal baluster gate and wanted to take pictures of me. He ordered me to pose
doing exercises and said that it was for "internal references." I
refused him. He tried to persuade me for a long time and insisted on taking
pictures of me until I covered my face with my arms. A Beijing police officer
took out a computer-generated fake picture of Master and him, to delude me. On December 29, 1999, a police officer took me directly to a train,
preventing us from staying in Beijing. The detention, that lasted over 60 days,
followed no formal legal procedure. I even had to pay 300 yuan for
the food and train ticket. After returning to Shenyang, I drifted about. I was again arrested in
February 2000 when I went back home. The police said that they had closely
watched and waited from outside my apartment building for over ten days. A set
of my Dafa books was confiscated. It was on Lunar New Year's Eve that I was sent
to the Shenyang Detention Center. Not until more than ten days later did the
police inform my family, who were anxiously looking for me everywhere. During the three months of being locked up in the detention center I was
forced to perform slave labor, processing hand-worked flowers for export to
other countries. I was once forced to do this slave labor for three days in
succession without sleeping. Because I couldn't achieve the high output quota, I
was punished with the "riding an airplane" torture. (1) IV. Masanjia Forced Labor Camp's Spiritual Distortion and Mind Control - My
Lost Three Years In May 2000 I was sentenced to a two-year term in a labor camp and was sent
to the Fourth Section, Second Division at the Second Women's Center at the
Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The women's center had by then been set up for six
months. At the beginning, the authorities insanely suppressed Falun Gong
practitioners attempts to study the Fa and do the exercises. When I was sent
there they mainly brainwashed practitioners with insincerity and lies. The
second day I was infused with evil messages and was so-called
"reformed." I even did a very bad thing by acting as a
"collaborator" to assist the brainwashing. During the period I was locked up in Masanjia, beatings often took place
privately, so that few facts were exposed. Some guards in Masanjia appeared very
kind to practitioners locked up in cells under their administration. This was
very deceptive, as after their office doors were closed, they brutally beat
practitioners from other cells. The guards often coerced criminal prisoners and
collaborators to beat practitioners. One practitioner, a newcomer, was surrounded by several collaborators for
brainwashing, but she refused to listen. The prisoner on duty, Feng Lin, ordered
her to go to the toilet where she was forced to assume a "position with
both legs far apart." When she came back to the cell her eyes were full of
tears because of the torture. The guards in the men's team beat up the male Falun Gong practitioners who
persisted in cultivation practice. Some male practitioners who had sores on
their backs from the beatings were still brought to the Second Women's Center to
undergo brainwashing. The authorities at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
deceptively called these brainwashing sessions "waking them up" and
"saving them." In Masanjia, being punished by having to squat and
being deprived of sleep were the most commonly used and the so-called most
civilized methods. It was really terrible when the mind was made to abandon
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." In the closed environment of Masanjia, a delirious upsurge in learning
atheism was started. One time more than 50 practitioners, after having been
brainwashed, wrote an application to join the CCP. Later these "learning
sessions" developed into using "dialectical materialism,"
"Selected Works of Mao Zedong" and "Lei Feng's book" to
brainwash practitioners. Ms. Gao Yanqiu, who firmly held to her belief, was
forced to squat on the ground. At the same time the collaborators surrounded her
and put their heads together to read the "Communist Party
Constitution" to her. They also shouted some slandering words. Because too many practitioners were locked up in Masanjia, the Second
Division at the Second Women's Center was moved to the courtyard house newly
built for the Men's Division. Each big room housed more than one hundred
practitioners. Eating, sleeping and working all took place in that room. The
practitioners in each room were grouped into small teams. A team head was in
charge of monitoring the "mental trends." Once a so-called
"unstable mind" was found, she was then brainwashed to make her
"stable." Propaganda on television was frequently broadcast. Whenever
the CCTV "Focal Point Interview" program slandered Falun Gong, the
authorities forced us to watch it together. Following that we were forced to
discuss it extensively using vicious words, and to report our thoughts after
watching it. Only people who audaciously criticized Falun Gong were regarded as
"being completely reformed." At that time we were forced to do a large amount of slave labor. We made
handicrafts with feathers, which made the room smell like it was full of
chickens, and fuzz was everywhere. Su Jing and other guards purposely distorted the meaning of Dafa books, using
all kinds of evil words to deceive practitioners. Su Jing even made a so-called
"common qigong knowledge" speech during a broadcast. She forced
practitioners to learn to sing army revolutionary songs, with the singular
purpose of inciting hatred of Falun Gong. The authorities slandered that the
suffering of practitioners and their family members under the unjust persecution
was caused by Falun Gong practitioner's firm beliefs. They often invited outside
"helper groups" to intensify the brainwashing. One time a guard on night duty said that supervisor Su Jing no longer ordered
them to beat people. Everybody thought this was strange. Later we learned that
the incident in which they stripped eighteen female Falun Gong practitioners
naked and threw them into male criminals' cells had been exposed. Because some
foreign reporters wanted to come to Masanjia to investigate the incident, Su
Jing adopted this stalling tactic to dupe people. Su Jing and other guards spread lies to people locked up there, saying that
Minghui Net fabricated incidents. They also deceived Falun Gong practitioners
sent there from Beijing. Later, some practitioners became more and more
clear-minded and firm, and were not as easily brainwashed. Su Jing and others
removed their masks and again used brutal, inhuman violence in Masanjia. One time when we were having a meeting, policewoman Dai Yuhong forced a
practitioner who refused to renounce her belief to bend over in front of more
than one hundred people. In the evenings they also took firm practitioners to a
bathroom or dining room for private torture. Liu Jing, one of the most evil persons in the CCP who persecuted Falun Gong
practitioners came personally to Masanjia many times to deceive people. He
called practitioners "sister" when talking with practitioners and
making speeches. He slyly said, "You are deceived. Once you are reformed
you will become an even better person." He also fabricated many vulgar,
rude lies to defame our Master. Masanjia also widely spread lies such as, "It was the CCP that saved
you. If you were arrested in other countries, you would have already been
'physically extinguished' and militarily suppressed by their governments. The
CCP is the most merciful one." The guards themselves knew that the cheap, deceptive tricks and evil
persecution methods were unable to stand the light of truth. In order to prevent
blinded practitioners from recognizing the truth, before we were set free, they
called us together to be "mentally immunized." The guards said, "After you go back home, if people from your work place
and society can't understand you, you should acknowledge your mistakes. If your
family members can't understand you, you need to acknowledge your mistakes. When
facing the issue of divorce, you also must acknowledge your mistakes,"
meaning that we should recognize that all these issues were caused by our Falun
Gong practice. They even said, "If you find that you have doubts about your
reformation, you are welcome back to spend some time at Masanjia. At the same time a guard asked us, "After going back home, if you
encounter some problems, will the 'red flag' (translator's note: this
represents communism and the CCP) in your heart be turned down?" Only
by getting a NO were the guards assured. Brainwashing in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp was to make one's brain numb
and drive out kindness and good faith from one's heart. How terrible was this
mental persecution! In those days, through three years of giving up
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," I lost the true meaning of
life. It was very depressing and full of suffering. V. After Being Released I was Watched, and I Gradually Awakened In January 2001, I was released before my sentence had expired. But what
awaited me was not as good as what the propaganda spouted, "The policy of
treating released practitioners is very good." Instead, the persecution
against me continued. My release came during the winter break and I went back to my college.
According to instructions from "top officials," the college
authorities made several rules for me to follow, so as to keep me under
surveillance. I was not allowed to go to Beijing, I had to get my college's
permission to go other places, I could not contact any Falun Gong practitioners,
and every day I had to call the college's personnel division head, so as to
prove I was at home. Personnel from the neighborhood office and the local police station kept
watching and harassing me, both openly and secretly. They called me and came to
my home. During the 2001 Chinese Lunar New Year, I went to have Chinese New
Year's at my brother's home in Beijing. Personnel from the neighborhood
committee and the local police station, on orders from the top officials, even
went to Beijing to check on me. A college leader once said that the college had spent up to 200,000 yuan
because of me. The college Party secretary indicated that I would win an honor
for the college as long as my "transformation" was stable, otherwise
he would face the possibility of the top officials firing him. The college art
gallery once organized a "signature campaign against the cult" and I
went there to take a look. Without getting my permission, a student from the
Department of Photography followed me and kept taking pictures of me, as the
college planned to use these photos to show their achievements to the top
officials. I really should not have gone there. The involved officials came to talk to me many times, telling me to write
down my understandings, or go out to help do the "reformation" work,
including being a role model on television. I refused all these requests.
Another time the Party secretary of the City Science and Education Committee,
the top official in charge of the college, came to talk to me, urging me to
apply to join the Communist Party. I refused his request. Because the college authorities were not satisfied with my behavior, they did
not let me go to the accounting department to work until about April or May.
Near each holiday, the college Party secretary would come to talk to me.
Personnel from the security division whom I met with also often asked me,
"What has your thinking been lately?" I still had a trace of my good conscience left, which urged me to try to
find, in the human world, some criteria that I could yet use to guide me to be a
good person. I found that deep in my heart,
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" was still guiding me, and that
the heavenly principle, good is rewarded with good, and evil is met with evil,
was still warning me. After a long time of confusion and struggle I eventually
realized that one cannot live without
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." By the end of May 2003 I
started to awaken. I decided to restart my cultivation of Falun Gong. VI. I Was Sent to Shenyang City Detention Center for Further Torture On June 20, 2003, I clarified the truth to a graduate student at the Luxun
Academy of Fine Arts and told him that I needed to persevere in my cultivation.
After the student went back home, he told his wife the truth about the staged
"Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation." His wife reported me to the Luxun
Academy officials. So, the Luxun Academy leaders, personnel from the 10th
Division of the City Police Department and from the City Science and Education
Committee all came to talk to me. They ordered me to avoid contacting students
and forbid me from talking about Falun Gong. I gave them explanations, but they
did not listen to me. After I went back home at noon, the college sent people to knock on my door
or call me, telling me to return to the college. I also saw police outside my
residential building watching me. The next morning, personnel from the 10th
Division of the Shenyang City Police Department, from the local police station,
and from Luxun Academy acted together and took me to the local police station.
They handcuffed me to the heating radiator. In the evening they sent me to
Shenyang City Detention Center. On the morning of June 23, 2003, I shouted "Dafa is good" and other
truth-clarification phrases in the transitional cell, a cell used to hold the
prisoners who recently arrived. The guards dragged me out and cuffed my hands
behind my back. They pushed me down to the floor in the hallway and then four
guards used four electric batons to shock me, with one of them shocking me
specifically on my mouth. After the shocking I was carried to the cell that is
used to detain prisoners who have already been sentenced. While I was being
carried, a guard kept violently kicking me and injured a large area of my body,
making it turn black and blue. The division head Xu Yan (female) again took an
electric baton to shock my mouth. They put me in shackles and then affixed me to
the rings that were mounted on the floor. My hands bled profusely because the
handcuffs cut into my flesh. Seeing this scene, the inmates in the cell were
extremely frightened. By the end of June 2003, because I had staged a hunger strike to protest the
illegal detention, the detention center had ordered my force-feeding, which
involved inserting a tube into my nose. A large amount of salt was mixed into
corn porridge, which was used for the force-feeding. They continued the
force-feeding until they could not feed it anymore. The force-feeding made me
suffocate. After the tube was pulled out, my head ached as if it was cracked
open, and I also immediately experienced diarrhea and vomiting. After each
force-feeding, the detention center also took 50 yuan from me. On July 8, 2003, the Shenyang City Heping District Police Department sent me
for three years of forced labor. When I came out of the detention center I said
to those who were detained there or who watched me, "Falun Dafa is
good!" The detention center guards slapped me on my face dozens of times
with a flyswatter until the flyswatter broke. VII. Suffering Inhuman Torture in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang
City (1) Suffering Beating, Forced Squats for 4 days, Brainwashing and Slave Labor On July 8, 2003, I was sent to the Shenyang City Longshan Forced Labor Camp.
Attempting to force me to give up my belief, the guards there used many methods
of physical torture and brainwashing. On that same day, because I shouted "Falun
Dafa is good" at the gate, the deputy head of the No. 2 Division, Tang
Yubao, hit me on the face twice. My face immediately swelled and one ear could
no longer hear clearly. The symptoms lasted for quite a few days. After that, I was forced to squat continuously, around the clock, for four
days. They limited the amount of water I could drink and the times to use the
toilet. At that time, my heel was injured, and the pain in my legs was hard to
endure and lasted over two months afterward. Also, because my chest and the
abdominal cavity were oppressed, my lower back and abdomen felt like they were
burning. My organs were injured. Under this kind of situation, Tang Yubao still
hit me on the face with a book clamp and arranged people to take turns to shout
insults at me. I suffered serious mental and physical trauma, and lost my clear
mind and further fell into the trap of their deceit. Later my mind became clear,
and on February 16, 2004 I wrote a solemn declaration affirming that I would
continue the practice. I was forced to work for over ten hours every day. Some work, such as making
the wax crafts and flowers, involved handling toxic materials. My physical
condition worsened, and I had great pain in my chest, back, neck and shoulders.
My hands and arms were injured, my eyes were very tired, and I even didn't have
the energy to wash the clothes. Around the time of the 2004 Chinese Lunar New
Year, I felt nausea and was vomiting, had pain in my liver and stomach, my heart
couldn't withstand any running or jumping, my whole body was powerless, and I
was as thin as just skin and bones. However, Wang Jinghui, the head of the No. 2
Division claimed that my health was all right and I had problems with my mind. (2) Electrically Shocked for Thirty Minutes, My Face Was Destroyed By
Electric Batons On March 22, 2004, the Longshan Forced Labor Camp transferred four Falun Gong
practitioners from the No. 1 and No. 2 Divisions to the Masanjia Forced Labor
Camp for continued persecution. On that afternoon, the No. 2 Division held a
meeting in which the deputy head, Tang Yubao, made a deceitful announcement,
claiming that the arrest of the four practitioners was authorized. I refused to
attend the meeting, and was dragged down from the top level of a bunk bed by
Tang Yubao. He pinched my neck, and beat and kicked me, then finally took me to
the front. My feet were bare at the time, and three guards pushed me into a
chair. When a Falun Gong practitioner stepped out to stop them, Tang Yubao
punched him in the eye. A large area around his eye turned black and blue. After the meeting, Tang Yubao ordered the two guards, Wang Jichang and Zeng
Xiaoping, to drag me to the administration section. Tang Yubao beat and kicked
me, and also started to shock me with the electric baton. Many guards of the
administration section, No. 1 and No. 2 Divisions were present, but none of them
attempted to stop the torture. When I requested to see the chief of the labor
camp, they gradually left one after another. Afterwards, Tang Yubao handcuffed my hands to the radiator, and continually
shocked my face, head, neck, hands, feet and back with the electric baton. The
pain was extremely hard to forbear. Tang Yubao even pressed lit cigarettes on
the back of my hands, and the wound is still visible today. Over thirty minutes
later, Tang Yubao swaggered away and let Wang Jichang monitor me. The heads of No. 1 Division, Yue Jun and Yang Min, came in one after another
and asked, "What's going on?" Chief Wang Xuetao of the administration
section also came to look. Afterwards Li Fengshi arrived. He first urged me to
transform. Seeing that I remained unmoved, he started slandering Falun Gong and
practitioners, and in the end he said wickedly, "What is the despotic
mechanism for? What are the handcuffs and electric batons for? I don't believe
we cannot control you, little Gao Rongrong." After that, Wang Jichang ordered someone to bring my shoes (They didn't let
me wear shoes before this) and brought me to the dining room. The skin on my
face was burned into black pieces due to the electric shocks. All practitioners
and prisoners who saw my face were shocked and scared. They didn't allow my
family member to see me until April 19, the visiting day, as the wounds were
still on my face. Tang Yubao also attacked my back fiercely with his elbow, which caused the
extreme pain in my vital organs. From then on, I couldn't straighten my back
while walking, and I walked slower and slower. The X-ray picture taken by the
No. 1 Hospital of the Medical University showed that my spinal column had been
bent and damaged. (3) Deprived of Sleep for More Than 10 Days, Brainwashed and Beaten by the Criminal Prisoners Though my body had been seriously damaged, on March 23, the deputy head of the No. 2 Division, Liang Zhen, still let the prisoner Shi Jing carry me to the slave labor workshop. Two days later, they then sent me to the No. 1 Division. There the re-education group formed by Longshan and Zhangshi Forced Labor Camps subjected me to brainwashing for nearly two weeks and didn't let me sleep. On March 25 at two o'clock in the morning, when I was getting ready to sleep, team head Duan Haiying from the No. 1 Division, along with several helpers, forcibly put clothes on me. When Duan Haiying was holding me, she also made an effort to pinch my arm secretly and said many coarse words (later at the police hospital, in front of many people, she stated that she was nice to me). When I requested that they stop the physical torture, team leaders Yue Jun, Yang Min and Duan Haiying said that it was not physical torture. Yue Jun said that no one could help me and only his words counted. He said that as long as I refuse to talk with the brainwashers, he wouldn't let me sleep. Later my lack of sleep reached the limit and I almost lost consciousness. In order to continue the brainwashing, they let me rest two or three hours a day. One time a brainwasher didn't let me sit on the bed, dragged me down to the floor, and sat on my body. The pain in my legs lasted for several days. They rolled a paper tube to yell in my ear loudly, slandering Falun Gong for more than half an hour, and threatened me that they would sentence me, and apply electrotherapy and horrible torture methods on me. Such mental and physical torture worsened the condition of my wound-covered body. I started to suffer from continuous low fever. When I was sent back to the No. 2 Division, the guards ordered prisoners Bi Shuhua and Wang Yanling to take turns monitoring me 24 hours a day, and prevent me from talking to other practitioners. In the slave labor workshop, being so weak, to sit I had to lean against the wall. Sub-team heads Ma Zaiming and Teng Jiliang made trouble for me again and asked me to move away and sit on a stool. I didn't follow. As a result, on April 26, 2004, the prisoner Bi Shuhua beat me cruelly in the workshop, hitting me on the chest and back and pinching me on the neck. At that time, guard Teng Jiliang was present but he didn't try to stop the beating. Later, Tang Yubao held a meeting for those prisoners and praised criminal prisoner Bi Shuhua for her attack and said, "You did right! Keep it up!" Tang Yubao said to prisoner Shi Jing, who did not take part in the beating that day, "You don't work, you waste the meal!" "You have to beat them, beat their brains out!" (4) For Promotion to a "Provincial Level" Forced Labor Camp, Longshan Wantonly Fabricated False Stories In order to be promoted to a "Provincial Level" forced labor camp, Longshan Forced Labor Camp started to wantonly make up false documents. They forced everyone, from guards to the prisoners, to back-file the fabricated documents for the past two or three years. The detainees were forced to make up assignments over the past two or three years. These assignments for those who were detained here two or three years ago would have to be made up by the current detainees. If Falun Gong practitioners refused to write the documents, guards forced prisoners to write for them, so as to intensify the conflicts. The prisoners would release their anger toward practitioners and curse at them. For example, prisoner Bi Shuhua forced the practitioner in her cell to sit until midnight when the prisoners completed the "assignments." Longshan Forced Labor Camp also forced practitioners to take photos, to be put on their bedside card and chest card. On April 26, 2004, in order to cope with the inspection of the Justice Department of Shenyang City, the labor camp forced practitioners to recite the "two rules and one guideline." As practitioners resisted, woman guard Wang Chunmei from the Second Division took out a Falun Gong book and asked prisoner Bi Shuhua to burn it, threatening that they would burn one book a day, and claiming that it was a rule of the labor camp. (To be continued) Notes: (1) Riding an airplane - In this torture, the head is bent down until it cannot go down any further, while the hands are pulled up and held up to the highest point. The hips have to point up. One is forced to keep this position unchanged for a long time. The body in this position looks like the shape of an airplane, which is how this torture was named.
