Skype web-phone is free web-phone software developed by Skype Technologies. According to its own introduction, this software uses P2P (peer-to-peer) technology. On March 26, 2005, Garden.net introduced a new service that allows people in China to use Skype's point-to-point technology to break through the Internet firewall set up in mainland China.

Due to Skype software's proprietary code and Skype's apparent willingness to cooperate with the communist Chinese regime, we cannot be sure how secure this software is, nor can we guarantee its security in the future. Hence, we specifically suggest that Falun Dafa practitioners, both in mainland China and overseas, not regard this software to be safe and secure for use. If for some specific reason it is to be used under special circumstances, please think it through and weigh its pros and cons in advance. (Recommending its use by non-practitioners should be fine, since the persecution and resulting damage caused by the factors of the evil Party and old forces are, in fact, all geared toward Falun Dafa practitioners.)
