Corrupt CCP Officials in Inner Mongolia Collude to Deprive a Falun Gong Practitioner of Farmland

I am a Falun Gong practitioner who started to practice in 1998. After July 20, 1999, I peacefully and legally appealed on behalf of Falun Gong in Beijing. The corrupt Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials in my village came to my house to harass me day and night. Even at midnight, they forced me to come to the village government offices and interrogated me. Just because I practiced Falun Gong, they framed and discriminated against me, my son and my daughter. At that time, my son was 16, and my daughter was 12.

In the spring of 2004, the head of our village used his power and forcefully deprived me of 18,000 square meters of farmland. In the conflict, the village head incited his nephew to break into my house with a knife to kill my children and me in broad daylight. My 21 year old cousin was stabbed 19 times and died. Both before and after my cousin died, my son ran to the house of the Director for Security and Safety of our village twice to report the crime to him. He refused to help. After the murder, the head of our village bribed his supervisors and subordinates to perjure themselves in this murder case by saying the criminal had only stabbed my cousin 4 times. Therefore, the murderer was only sentenced to prison for 10 years. He was released after he had spent less than 5 years in jail.

Before this event, my husband divorced me, and I had the responsibility to raise my children. According to our agreement, more than 100,000 square meters of farmland should have been put in my name. The head of our village prevented the Superintendent of the Judicatory Department of our village from enforcing our agreement. In the spring of 2002, colluding with the corrupt CCP officials in our village, the head of our village illegally confiscated all my land with the excuse that we owed taxes. I had to redeem the land at market price. Shortly after I redeemed the land, the head of our village visited my former husband, and they conspired against me. They asked the Subsidiary Head of our village to be a middleman and permanently assign my land to other villagers in my division. However, they hid this agreement from me. My former husband returned to his hometown with the money from this transaction and spent it all within 3 years.

My children and I lost the farmland that we depended on for our livelihood. We were destitute and I couldn't afford to send my children to school. We worked and depended on financial help from my relatives. Every other family could get "relief grain" from the government, but because I practice Falun Gong, my family couldn't.

In November 2003, I asked my former husband for alimony. The head of our village coaxed my son to come to the local government of our village, and forced him to help the CCP officials to find me so that they could detain me and try to coerce me to write a Guarantee Statement. They threatened to send me to a labor camp.
