Professor An Fentian from Beijing University of Chemical Technology Died as a Result of Torture - His Wife Illegally Sentenced to Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. An Fentian, a professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and his wife Chen Haifeng, were often detained and persecuted for practicing Falun Dafa. Professor An Fentian passed away on October 16, 2004. His wife Chen Haifeng was abducted and sentenced to prison many times. She is currently in detention.

An Fentian was 58 years old and began practicing Falun Dafa in 1995. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, perpetrators from the Street Committee and the police station often harassed him at home, and they abducted and detained him during holidays and Party conferences. His and his wife's salaries were cut in half over the past five years. The perpetrators often tried to force the couple to write a guarantee statement but they firmly refused.

In October 2004, An Fentian and his wife were abducted when distributing truth clarification materials in Beijing, and the police ransacked their home. An Fentian was released on bail because he had high blood pressure. Chen Haifeng was illegally sentenced to three years in prison.

An Fentian suffered tremendously during the brutal persecution. He passed away on October 16, 2004. He was still awaiting interrogation when he died. His mother is 89 years old and his daughter is 24 years old.

Chen Haifeng was abducted four times by police and perpetrators for validating Dafa. She was sentenced to prison twice and was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor. On March 8, 2001, Ms. Chen and five other women practitioners at her work unit were either deceived or abducted and were sent to the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp where they were detained for 15 days. In April 2001 Chen Haifeng was sentenced to forced labor for publishing a solemn declaration online.
