WOIPFG: CCP Officials Involved in Forcing Eutelsat to Terminate Contract with NTDTV

April 5, 2005

The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) has recently received reports that Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have been secretly involved in preventing the contract renewal between Eutelsat and New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV). Applying political pressure and economic incentives, the CCP has forced the European satellite company Eutelsat to discontinue service to NTDTV, in an attempt to maintain their media control in China.

Our investigation has shown that the persecution of Falun Gong taking place now in China is of a genocidal nature, yet, the response from the media around the world with respect to this issue has been rather disappointing. Not only have the majority of overseas Chinese media been bought or coerced by the CCP to help spread their lies, but even the Western media, known for their fair and balanced news coverage, have considered their own interests and other factors and seldom reported on the persecution.

As a result, the world does not thoroughly know about the most vicious crime of the century that is happening right now in China. As an independent Chinese language media, NTDTV does not associate with any political or financial groups. The principle it upholds is admirable. It is devoted to disseminating the concepts of democracy and freedom, which have enabled Chinese people living under the tyranny of the CCP for more than half a century to know for the first time that man has inalienable human rights. In particular, NTDTV's reports on the persecution of Falun Gong have awakened more and more Chinese. They have come to know that the crime of genocide is happening right by their sides, and as a consequence can help to stop it and also restrain the CCP from further killings.

Let's think about it. If there had been a TV station like NTDTV half a century ago, which had the courage to report on the Nazi's genocide of the Jewish people and call on the world to stop the atrocities, how many lives would have been saved? Today, NTDTV is doing this brave and just deed. Protecting NTDTV's broadcasts to mainland China would definitely save numerous good Chinese people from brainwashing and death at the hands of the CCP.

Therefore, the contract renewal is a big concern in the lives of millions of Chinese people! All the CCP officials who have plotted and become involved in pressuring Eutelsat to not renew the contract will be viewed as accomplices in this genocide!

WOIPFG hereby announces: we will thoroughly investigate all CCP officials involved in this incident, hold them legally accountable for their actions, and severely punish the conspirators and participants.
