Police from the 610 Office arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Xiaoyong when he was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong along a pedestrian street. He was tortured during interrogation and illegally detained for over nine months. His whereabouts are unknown.

Practitioner Ms. Xing Miaoxiu from the Yangpu District, Shanghai was arrested and put into the Nanhui Detention Center.

Practitioners Mr. Yang Xuegui, Mr. Wang Wenke, Mr. Jiao Yunlin, and Mr. Li Jiankui are being held and tortured at the Linxia Prison. Guards there shock practitioners with six electric batons. Because Li Jiankui and Jiao Yunlin shouted "Falun Dafa is great," they were locked up in a small cell and forced to undergo brainwashing. Usually, eight people monitor Yang Xuegui while four people monitor Li Jiankui and Jiao Yunlin.

During the afternoon of March 18, 2005, practitioner Mr. Zhang Zhishu from Longshui Town, Dazhu County, Chongqing was followed as he distributed truth-clarifying materials. Police arrested him afterwards. He may be held in the Dazhu County Detention Center.

On March 24, 2005, police arrested Ms. Liu Min when she was clarifying the truth to a person selling fruit in front of the Guangmin Police Precinct in Tonghua City. Later police put her into the city's Changliu Detention Center.

March 8, 2005 was a market fair day for Shangzhuang Town. At around 10:00 a.m., two policemen from the Shangzhuang Town Police Precinct, Han Mengfa and Song Xiujie, broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Renzhi's home without showing any warrant. They arrested Wang Renzhi together with some friends who were visiting her - Ms. Sun Yongling from Maoliujia Village, Ms. Yu Hongzhen from Liujiadian Village and Ms. Gao Peirong from Zhongguzhang Village. They sent them to the Rongcheng City Detention Center. Wang Renzhi's family members questioned, "Why are you arresting people for no reason?" They said, "This is assembly!" However, they told the public these people were arrested because they distributed flyers.

These four people are staging a hunger strike at the Rongcheng City Detention Center to protest their illegal arrest. Two weeks later, at 3 o'clock in the morning, police sent the four people to the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City for further persecution.

On December 18, 2000, police arrested practitioner Mr. Li Yongzheng while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials. They deprived him of sleep for nine days and beat him badly. Later they sent him to the Hutubi Detention Center for five years of imprisonment. At the detention center, police constantly humiliated, beat, and verbally abused Li Yongzheng, which greatly injured him, both physically and mentally.

Tao Ge was arrested together with Li Yongzheng at home in 2000 and is now being held at the No. 3 Prison, No. 6 Team, Xiabahu Forced Labor Farm. There are ten other practitioners currently being held there.

Ms. Li Guangjin, 46, lives at Unit 7-4, No. 58 Yangheyicun Village, Jiangbei District, Chongqing. She obtained the Fa in March 1997. On August 30, 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was later arrested by Beijing police and escorted back to Chongqing. She was detained for 15 days at the Shapingba Detention Center in Chongqing City. Later her work unit, the No. 2 Company of the Shapingba District Public Transportation Cooperation, detained her for over 20 days. Before they released Li Guangjin, they forced her family members to write a so-called guarantee statement, promising she won't go to Beijing again. On November 4, 2000, Chongqing Police arrested her again and sentenced her to one year of forced labor.

At the forced labor camp, Li Guangjin was forced to stand for over ten hours each day. One time police ordered inmates to beat practitioners who were reciting Teacher's writings. She was beaten so badly that she couldn't get into bed, couldn't sit up, and needed help to get into bed for over a month afterward. In October 2001, Li Guangjin's work unit fired her. In October 2003, Suining City Police arrested Li Guangjin again. She has been detained at the Suining City Detention Center ever since. She was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment.

At around 11:00 a.m. on March 18, 2005, personnel from the Guojiatuo Police Station arrested practitioner Tang Bing from Guojiatuo, Jiangbei District and ransacked his/her home.

On March 27, 2005, practitioners from the Anju District, Jinzhou City gathered at Ms. Li Suqiu's home for an experience-sharing meeting. Yang Guang, the Baigu Police Station chief, led seven policemen to arrest them. They broke in through a window on the second floor and arrested 20 practitioners. Later, a practitioner managed to escape. The arrested practitioners are being held at the Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center.

Practitioners Du Funuan and Meng Yingge of Jiaonan City, Shandong Province were arrested. Du Funuan currently is in the 610 Office Brainwashing Class in Qingdao City, and Meng Yingge is being held at the Jiaonan City Detention Center.

On March 6, 2005, several policemen broke into and ransacked the home of practitioner Ms. Zhou Yinxiang from Wulixuan Village, Yanzihe Township, Fengrun District, Tangshan City. Her elder sister, Ms. Zhou Yinping, went to Beijing to appeal for her but was also arrested. Now the two sisters are being illegally held at the Fengrun District Detention Center.

On March 17, 2005, personnel from a local police precinct entrapped practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiufen by deceiving her into coming to the precinct in the name of "having a talk." They then put her into the Zibo City Legal Institutional Education Center" for torture (a brainwashing class administered by the 610 Office).

On February 22, 2005, someone reported practitioner Shen Qirong and Ms. Li Jinying, a retired physician from the Zichuan District No.1 Middle School to police when they were clarifying the truth. Shen Qirong walked away with the power of righteous thoughts, but eventually she was forcibly sent into the Zibo City Legal Institutional Education Center for brainwashing and persecution. Li Jinying is now being held at the Zibo City Detention Center.

On March 21, 2005, more than 20 officers from the National Security Team in the Zibo City Police Department arrested practitioner Mr. Gao Wenqi, an arts teacher at the Shuanggou Middle School in the Zichuan District. Afterwards they ransacked his home. Now Gao is being tortured at the "Zibo Legal Institutional Center." His wife was left alone at home to take care of their three month-old baby.

In October 2004, practitioner Ms. Li Qiong from Guangzhou City was sentenced to four years of imprisonment and was sent to a women's prison on January 25, 2005.

Ms. Wu Yanna was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment.

The Ms. Chen Chunli and her husband Mr. Gao Dandi were arrested in 2004 and are being held in the Tianhe Detention Center.

Zhang Shunying was illegally sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by the People's Intermediate Court in Guangzhou City. After a year of physical and mental tortures, Zhang Shunying' hair turned gray and she became emaciated. Though she could not eat because of stomachache and other illnesses, and she still has not received medical treatment. She often knocks her head against a wall to release some pain. Those who are involved in the tortures include personnel from the National Security Section, the Branch Police Department in the Tianhe District, and Liu Tingxian, the Security Section chief of the Guangdong Province Postal and Communication Equipment Factory, which was Zhang Shunying's former work unit.

In October 2004, police arrested practitioner Ms. Yu Wanlan in Beijing. She has been held in a detention center for the past four months. Her family is not allowed to visit. Yu Wanlan had been sentenced to three years of forced labor, but after a year of detention her family bailed her out for medical treatment. This arrest is still under the term of the last sentence.

Now, Yu Wanlan is so weak that she needs daily nursing help. It is said that her family has found a lawyer for her. The authorities from the procurator's office intended to put her on trial.

Practitioner Mr. Zhao Bo, 34, is being held in the No. 9 Division of the Mudanjiang City Prison in Heilongjiang Province. On March 21, 2005, Jiang Weidong, the division chief, and Yi Yongxiang, a division officer, shocked Zhao with a high voltage police baton for about an hour because Zhao refused to do forced labor. The electric shock injured Zhao's face. The extent of the damage is as yet unclear. Afterwards, Zhao Bo was held in a small cell for additional torture. The prison authorities denied Zhao's family visitation rights.

Ms. Yang Manyi, a resident at the Ganquanxin Village in the Putuo District was arrested in 2000 for distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. She was sentenced to four years of imprisonment, which would have ended in January 2005, but she is still being held.

Yang Manyi has suffered all kinds of tortures in the Shanghai Songjiang Women's Prison. She was assigned to the No. 4 Division where murderers and violent criminals are kept. Prisoners in that group have to work over ten hours a day, sometimes over 20 hours, to make clothes or knit sweaters. Yang Manyi was handcuffed and confined in a solitary compartment for a long time. Because she kept reciting Falun Gong teachings, police either taped her mouth closed, or had criminal inmates gag her with dirty rags. They tied her up to a chair and shocked her with electric batons. In order to protest these tortures she held a hunger strike. Yang Manyi's knee was broken from torture, so she had to have surgery and a metal plate implanted.

Ms. Wang Caifeng, 60, from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, started to practice Falun Gong in July 1997. Her cholelithiasis (gallstones) from which she had suffered for many years disappeared after beginning the practice. On July 20, 1999, Wang Caifeng wrote a letter to the Appeals Office of the State Council of China to report the true story of Falun Gong and her recovery after Falun Gong practice. She also tried to go to Beijing to appeal, but each time personnel from the local police precinct prevented her. Authorities from the police department and precinct monitored her and confiscated her ID, in addition to subjecting her to many interrogations. They ransacked her home three times and tapped her home phone. They also forced her not to practice Falun Gong. Due to this lack of freedom, she suffered physically and mentally. Her cholelithiasis (gallstone) recurred and she died in February 2002.
