Changchun City Police Torture Mr. Yang Guang to Disability and Continue to Extort Money from His Family

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Guang, in his 50s, lived in Changchun City. He was arrested in October 2000 and sent to Division 7 of the Changchun City Police Department, where the police tortured him and broke his right leg. His right femur developed necrosis. After being sentenced to 15 years in prison, the guards carried Yang Guang into Jilin Prison. He was incarcerated in an area where the inmates are kept naked; it is part of the "Elderly and Disabled Ward," an area that was converted from a large storage room. The room is cold in the winter and hot in the summer, and there are no windows. Yang Guang is currently disabled from the torture; his right leg and foot festered and he is extremely weak.

In December 2004, Yang Guang was transferred to the Tiebei Labor Camp Hospital in Changchun where he continues to be held. Recently, the police demanded that Yang Guang's family pay 38 yuan a day for hospital bills, which is very difficult for the destitute family.
