(Clearwisdom.net) Yesterday, the Singapore court delivered an unfair and incorrect verdict against Falun Gong practitioners, drawing great attention from Falun Gong practitioners overseas. At noon on April 28, 2005, San Francisco Falun Gong practitioners appealed outside the Singapore Consulate in San Francisco, requesting that the Singapore government immediately release the innocent Falun Gong practitioners. They also called on the Singapore government not to act as an accomplice of the CCP, and immediately stop participating in the persecution.

It was reported that two Falun Gong practitioners, Mdm Ng Chye Huay and Mdm Cheng Lujin, were charged by the police in May 2004. Each of them faced eight charges, including "Assembly without a permit" and "Possessing and mailing out uncertified VCDs."

After almost one year of hearings, the two practitioners were fined S$20,000 and S$24,000 respectively on April 27, 2005 by the Singapore court. They refused to accept the verdict and expressed their wish to appeal. They were taken to the Changi Women's Prison at 6:00p.m. after they chose not to pay the fines because they did not agree with the decision.

Mr. Peng, who came to join the appeal after hearing the news said that the Singapore government's decision is absolutely wrong. Falun Gong practitioners' practicing the exercises and mailing truth clarification materials are appropriate and legal in any country with the rule of law. Falun Gong practitioners are peaceful. They follow the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," they can bring benefits to any place, any country and people.

Mr. Peng pointed out that China is the only country that persecutes Falun Gong in the world. The Singapore court's unfair verdict against Falun Gong practitioners, actually, involves them in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He believed that it does no good for the Singapore government and its people. He hoped that the Singapore government can distinguish a major issues of principle, withdraw its unfair verdict against Falun Gong practitioners, immediately release the innocent Falun Gong practitioners, and not succumb to the CCP's pressure.

According to the Minghui website's report, on February 23, 2005, Ng Chye Huay and Cheng Lujin went to the Esplanade Park as usual. Two or three plainclothes police officers appeared and after going through the materials on the ground, they ordered the practitioners to put all the materials away and leave. Ng and Cheng explained to the police about the persecution and asked to stay. 40 minutes later, the head of the plainclothes police was furious. He pulled away the cloth on which all the materials were placed and took down the IC details of all the seven practitioners present. He said, "You don't have a permit. What you're doing is illegal. All of you will be charged!"

Regarding the unreasonable charges against Singapore Falun Gong practitioners, practitioner Lu Hui, who works at the San Francisco Water Conservancy Bureau expressed that the two Singapore practitioners did not do anything illegal, yet they were arrested and detained. The Singapore government's action is wrong. This action is no difference from that of the CCP's evil regime. This is equal to participating in the persecution of Falun Gong. We request the Singapore authorities to immediately release the Falun Gong practitioners.

Lu Hui said that in San Francisco and other places in the world, every one of us does the exercises outdoors and distributes truth clarification VCDs like this, because this is basic human rights and freedom of speech protected by the constitution of democratic countries.

Ms. Song from the South Bay Area said that Falun Gong has been welcomed and supported in over 60 countries, and only in China is Falun Gong being persecuted. At present, the voices supporting Falun Gong have become stronger in the world. Falun Gong has been honored with over 1,000 awards and proclamations, and has been recognized by the mainstream countries. The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong has run in the opposite direction of the world's people's support of Falun Gong.

Ms. Song said that the CCP's evil regime has been persecuting Falun Gong for nearly six years, and has become more and more isolated from the international community. The CCP itself has seen its persecution being hard to sustain. Just recently, the regime conducted a large-scale arrest of Falun Gong practitioners, which shows its desperation. Under such circumstances, the CCP will utilize economic benefits to tempt others to participate in the persecution. The Singapore government's unwise action is running counter to the big tide of the world, and will harm the long-term interests of Singapore.

Ms. Song pointed out that the CCP's rule has lost its validity and rationality, and is going to collapse. In four months, more than a million people have chosen to quit the CCP. We hope the Singapore government will not be the scapegoat of the CCP prior to the CCP's collapse.
