Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Wang Chunbo and his wife Shi Wei from Lishifang Village, Tangjiafang Town, Anshan City, Liaoning Province were each sentenced to ten years in prison by Tiexi Court in Anshan City because they would not renounce Falun Gong.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Limei from Jinzhou City was tortured in the Fifth Section, Second Ward, Liaoning Province Women Prison. Prison Guard Zhu Tiehuan (gender unknown) stated to the prison inmates that if Ms. Zhang Limei refused to give in to the brainwashing, the prison inmates in the Fifth Section would not received their merit points to reduce their prison terms (1).

Thus, in order to receive more points, female prison inmates Yang Yujin, Wang Dongying, and Jia Yunfeng teamed up to torture Zhang Limei. They forced her to work in a squatting position during the day, and did not allowed her to rest, even after 9:00 p.m. Ms. Zhang was forced to stand barefoot in the washing room until midnight. In order to force Ms. Zhang give up her belief, the prison inmates beat her, cursed her, and pulled her hair. As a result of the torture, one of Ms. Zhang's ears was disfigured. The prison inmates burned her neck and arms with a hot glue gun. During the day, they stripped off her clothes and forced her to sit on the floor naked.

During the past several years, Falun Dafa practitioners have been cruelly tortured inside Daqing Prison. Mr. Yu Yongquan was tortured to death; Mr. Zhang Zhong was beaten so severely that he suffers from stomach paralysis (2). He became so severely emaciated that the Prison Administration had to release him.

Recently, Falun Dafa practitioners in Qingdao City, Shandong Province have been continually arrested. In February 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Song Zenglian was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. She is now being held at the Qingdao Brainwashing Center located at 34 Mingxia Street. The police won't let her husband (also a practitioner) visit her.

On March 11, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Ge Yuming (gender unknown) and Ms. Sun Liping were arrested when they were passing out truth-clarifying materials. It is not known where they are detained.

On March 14, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Jing disappeared after picking up truth-clarifying materials.

On February 2, 2005, police officer Fan (male) and another police officer from the Property Tax Office substation arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Pan Gang. Later, at 11:30 a.m., without any legal procedures, State Security agent Ren Haibo (male) led agent Liu Ye (male) and three other agents from the Property Tax Office to escort Mr. Pan to a detention center. The uniformed guards in the detention center forcibly carried Mr. Pan into a cell. The next morning, Center Director Li (male) and other guards brutally beat Mr. Pan for practicing the sitting meditation. Mr. Pan was dragged from the Fifth Cell to the First Cell where the prison inmates beat him again. On February 6, 2005, State Security agent Ren Haibo and several collaborators dragged Mr. Pan into a vehicle to take him to a labor camp. Four police officers carried Mr. Pan into the camp clinic of the Fifth Division, on the third floor. On the morning of February 11, 2005, Mr. Pan shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Because of this, prison inmates Wang Pin'gang (male) and Shan Dongyang (male) brutally beat him. They beat Mr. Pan again on February 12, 2005, and kicked him hard on the right side of his chest. Mr. Pan was force-fed on February 13, 2005.

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Yi Chunxiu and Mr. Teng Yun from the Hecheng District, Huaihua City, Hunan Province were recently arrested and detained in the First Detention Center. Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Deng Zhengrong was detained out of town. He Jun'guang (male) signed his name on Ms. Yi Chunxiu's detention warrant. Her family asked how long she would be held. He Jun'guang answered, "She will be held until she says what we want her to say." When her family pressed him for more information about her detention term, He Jun'guang replied, "Two or three years."

In order to let people learn about the persecution of Falun Dafa and expose the fabricated lies in China, Ms. Yi Chunxiu distributed truth-clarifying materials to each of the customers of her family business. When her fellow practitioners were detained or arrested, she spoke out for them in order to stop vicious acts from being committed against them. Ms. Yi wrote letters to the police to persuade them to chose correctly between right and wrong actions.

In October 2003, the State Security Division head of the 610 Office, Shu Yong (male) and several police officers from the Yingfeng Substation tried to ransack Ms. Yi Chunxiu's store. They arrested Ms. Yi for the second time. Her family members tried to prevent the arrest from taking place, but were unsuccessful. Her family then requested many times that she be released, also without success.

Ms. Liu Jianhua is in her 40s, and lives in the Hongjiang District, Huaihua City. On January 6, 2005, the Huitong County Police arrested her without any legal procedure because she was clarifying the truth about the persecution to people from Huitong County. The police fabricated false evidence in order to extort more money from Ms. Liu's family. Ms. Liu was sentenced to forced labor on February 3, 2005, and sent to Baimalong Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City.

This is the fifth time that Ms. Liu has been arrested and detained. She is not allowed any visitors or any written communication with anyone. Her father, also a Falun Dafa practitioner, upon learning of her arrest, remembered how he had witnessed his daughter being tortured and abused over the past five years. He was so distraught that he died 15 days after she was detained in the labor camp. He said before passing away, "It is so wrong to be brutally persecuted again and again just because we want to be good people!"

On the evening of March 13, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Zhimin was arrested in Tonghua County for producing truth-clarifying materials. On the same night, State Security Agent Yu Jisheng (male) led a group of police officers to ransack Mr. Liu's home. They took away his computer. Mr. Liu is now detained in Tonghua County Detention Center.

Mr. Liu's wife is trying to rescue him. She works as a technician in the Tonghua County Environmental Protection Office.

On the afternoon of February 28, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Tian Shuhua and Ms. Liu Xuejing from Baicheng City were handing out truth-clarifying materials on Citizen Square. They tried to clarify the truth to some people who happened to be plainclothes police officers from the Mingren Substation. The police officers refused to listen and arrested both practitioners. Where they are detained is presently unknown.

At the end of February 2005, the Huanggu District State Security Division in Shenyang City arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Shulin (in his 60s), his wife Ms. Liu Shuling (about the same age) and their daughter Ms. Wang Min (in her 30s). Mr. Wang and his daughter were both later released. His wife, Liu Shuling, was sentenced to one year of forced labor and is being held at the Longshan Labor Camp.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Enrong from Tianjin City has been sentenced many times to forced labor for practicing Falun Dafa. She has been disfigured due to the severe torture and has become so thin that she is just skin and bones. She has been hospitalized at the Tianjin Police Hospital. Her mother appealed at the Tianjin City Government for her release every day and her brother went to Beijing to appeal for her. Neither one practices Falun Gong.

On February 25, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioners Li Yuanzhuang (gender unknown), Ms. Luo Haiyan (female), and Mr. Li Xuexia (female) from Huaiji County, Guangdong Province were arrested for posting banners with the words, "Falun Dafa Is Good!" As of today, they are all still detained.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Liping from Haifeng County, Guangdong Province was arrested in Meizhou City. He and Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xie Hanzhu, who was arrested on February 3, 2005, were making truth-clarifying materials. Mr. Liu was thought to have been arrested that same day.

In May of June of 2000, Mr. Liu Liping went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution. In September 2000, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor. He was confined in the Fifth Ward of the Sanshui Labor Camp, and then transferred to Third Ward Special Division.

In June 2001, Liu Liping went on a hunger strike to protest the unreasonable confinement of fellow practitioners Mr. Xie Chunze and Mr. Lin Xiangrui. He was then transferred to the Third Division of the Third Ward. He was one of the steadfast practitioners in the Sanshui Labor Camp. Mr. Liu never succumbed to the brainwashing and was released in September 2002. He was confined for over forty days in a brainwashing session before the CCP's 16th Party Congress. He was forced to become destitute and homeless in order to avoid being arrested at his home. Mr. Liu is one of the practitioners who was arrested when the police located a materials production center in Meizhou City.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Hou Jihong started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. Because she remained steadfast and refused to renounce her belief, she was detained for two years from 2001 to 2003 in the Liudaowan Women's Detention Center in Urumqi City, Xinjing Autonomous District. She was arrested on the evening of February 20, 2005 when she was passing out truth-clarifying materials. The police ransacked her home on that same night and took away her truth clarifying CDs, tapes, computer, and printer. She is now detained at the Liudaowan Women Detention Center.

(1) The forced labor camp regulations stipulated that Falun Gong practitioners were not allowed to talk to one another or to practice the Falun Gong exercises. To prevent practitioners from exercising, the authorities forced them to sleep in the same room with criminal inmates who monitored their activities. Whenever practitioners went to eat or to use the bathroom, three criminal inmates always escorted them. According to labor camp regulations, inmates were constantly evaluated under a merit system that assigned three points per day to each inmate. Points were awarded or deducted depending on how well the inmates complied with the regulations. For example, if the ranking guard on duty were to discover that Falun Gong practitioners had not been properly escorted, the inmates acting as monitors would lose points.

(2) Stomach Paralysis - Formally called gastroparesis, this is a medical condition in which the stomach muscles are paralyzed by a disease of either the stomach muscle itself or the nerves controlling the muscle. As a consequence, food and secretions do not empty normally from the stomach, and the practitioner experiences nausea and vomiting.
