Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Duan Shaoming from Chongqing City Persecuted in a Psychiatric Hospital

The officials from the Political and Judiciary Committee in Dadukou District of Chongqing City abducted Duan Shaoming to attend a brainwashing session in January of 2001 due to his practice of Falun Gong. Later, he was persecuted in the psychiatric department of Chongqing Iron and Steel Plant Hospital.

In December 2004, Yan Xingliang, a police officer persecuting Falun Gong in Huilongba town of Shapingba District reported Duan Shaoming to the police. He was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong to Yan Xingliang by phone. Cai Zhiming, an official from the Residents Committee of Section 6, No. 1 Dadukou Dahui Residential Quarter and Yuejincun local police station of Dadukou District, forcefully searched Duan Shaoming's body. The found a piece of informational material and handed it over to the local police station. The officers from the police station came to Mr. Duan's home and rummaged through the chests and cupboards. They confiscated his Falun Gong books and materials, then Duan Shaoming was taken away from his home.

Duan Shaoming is now illegally imprisoned in the psychiatric department of Chongqing Iron and Steel Plant Hospital. He is locked in a room with over ten mental patients. He has difficulty breathing due to the obnoxious, foul smell in the room. The doctors in the mental hospital are prohibiting him from leaving the ward under false charges that he is seriously ill.
