Told Orally by a Dafa practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) I used to suffer painfully from dozens of diseases. After I started practicing Falun Dafa in April 1997, in less than one month, all the diseases had gone. I was illiterate, but miraculously, I was able to begin reading the book Zhuan Falun.

Master said in Touring North America to Teach the Fa (March 2002),

"You need to know that clarifying the truth is extremely important for Dafa disciples. You aren't just doing personal cultivation--your own cultivation is saving the beings in the gigantic cosmic bodies that you represent. When you clarify the truth you are saving even more and even larger additional cosmic bodies and the beings in those cosmic bodies, because this is the responsibility Dafa and history have bestowed upon you."

At first, I used to deliver the truth-clarifying materials that needed to be transported more than sixty miles every week. Later, for a while, because we were short of materials, I asked for help from my father. However, after a while, he lost his patience. What should I do? I studied Master's lecture of "To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference:"

"So in clarifying the truth, don't wait, don't rely on others, and don't just hope for changes in external factors. Every one of us is creating history for the future, that's why everyone is not only participating group activities, but also taking the initiative to look for things to do. As long as something is good for Dafa, you should take the initiative to do it, take the initiative to work on it."

I thought to myself, "I am a Dafa practitioner. I want to save sentient beings. Nothing can stop me."

So I started to write down truth-clarifying messages such as - "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa," etc. I then posted them in every corner of a city that spanned over sixty miles.

Sometimes, someone would come while I was posting my messages, but I didn't feel surprised or scared. Master says,

"The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston")

I would smile at the approaching person and think, "How lucky you are! Reading this will bring you good fortune!" I quickly finished writing while talking to them. Afterwards, I usually started to clarify the truth to them accordingly. Most people could accept what I had to say.

Someone might say while reading, "Good hand writing!" I would take this chance to tell them, "This is the wisdom that Dafa gave to me. I was illiterate before. However, since I studied Dafa, I could read through Zhuan Falun. Now not only can I read and write, but I am also very healthy."

In October 2001, I heard from a fellow practitioner that someone was holding a photo exhibition that slandered Dafa and poisoned people's minds. So, by sending forth righteous thoughts, we first eliminated all kinds of evil locally that was causing harm to Dafa, and then we went to that spot. There were already many people there. I stepped forward, tearing the pictures down while telling people around, "All these are deceiving you. All my diseases went away less than one month after practicing Dafa in. Jiang Zemin's regime framed Falun Gong and deceived us. Don't look at these. Don't believe their slandering lies on TV."

Because most people in the countryside believe in Buddha and retribution, they left. Another fellow practitioner and I tore down all the pictures, threw them on the ground and left immediately. We went to the city and discussed this with fellow practitioners there. They asked many fellow practitioners to send forth righteous thoughts to help us.

That afternoon, returning to the town, we informed all practitioners there to send righteous thoughts for a longer time to destroy the pictures that slandered Dafa. Those evil pictures were burned by the maintenance man on the same day.

Under protection from Master, none of the authorities followed up on the issue. We realized the power of Dafa practitioners as a whole from this. I deeply felt the truth of what Master said in Touring North America to Teach the Fa (March 2002),

"When you conduct yourselves righteously Master can do anything for you".

In "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People," Master says,

"For a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple, personal liberation is not the goal of cultivation: when you came, saving sentient beings was your great aspiration, and that is the responsibility and mission history has bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification. Thus great numbers of beings are to be saved by you. Dafa disciples, don't forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification, and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only hope for entering the future. For this reason, all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth. This is especially so for the Dafa disciples in Mainland China: each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people."

I kept on clarifying the truth every day, whether it was in the freezing snow, or raining cats and dogs. Sometimes I had to walk trails in the mountains for dozens of hours. Especially in the summer, I felt unbearable pain at the beginning. However, after a while, I felt it was easy to walk that far. In every village, I clarified the truth door to door, and delivered a CD or other truth-clarifying materials accordingly. On my way, I clarified the truth to everyone I encountered.

Once, I met an old woman in her 60s. She had bought some yam vines and was sweating heavily as she walked. I helped her to carry the vines and clarified the truth along the way. We walked a long way and she finally understood that Falun Dafa is good. When we separated, she thanked me again and again. I told her, "Falun Dafa taught me how to be a kind person. So I did this. If you want to express your appreciation, please thank Falun Dafa."

During another truth-clarifying occasion, I bumped into the same lady again in her village. She held my hand and told everyone around, "This is the Falun Gong lady who helped me carry the yam vines ..." When I started to clarify the truth to the people in this village, they all eagerly listened. They also told me, "Since this old lady met you, she has told everyone how kind Falun Gong practitioners are. So we all know that what was shown on TV was all lies."

Other than truth clarification, I kept on studying the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts every day. I got up around 3 to 4 in the morning, read two to three lectures of Zhuan Falun, and then did housework from 7:00 a.m. Whenever I have time, I read Master's latest lectures or browse the Minghui website articles. I go out for truth clarification around 1:00 in the afternoon (occasionally I would do the truth clarification in the evening) and try to send forth righteous thoughts at six o'clock in the evening every day. I practiced the five exercises in the evening. I send forth righteous thoughts eight to ten times a day.

One day around mid-November of 2003, the provincial 610 Office, the county 610 office, the newly appointed town head and my son's manager came to my home around eight o'clock in the morning and attempted to send me to a brainwashing class. Just the previous day, I had fallen down in a ditch while posting a message. I was having back pains, and my feet were swollen. I even seemed to have a fever that day. They insisted on taking me away. I told them, "I just follow Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Do you want to convert me to a bad person? You are so inhumane! Look at me. In this shape, where can I go?" In the mean time, I kept on sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil behind them. They didn't leave until 40 minutes later. When they left, they said that they would come back two days later. Therefore, I left home for several days and kept on sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all kinds of evil that persecuted me. Later, I came back home gracefully.

Later I learned that two months before, the provincial officers had ordered the town head to send me to a brainwashing class. They also said that if I were "transformed," other practitioners in our area would also give up their Falun Gong practice. So this time they came in person. At first they went to the local police station. The police found all kinds of reasons to stall them and asked them to go to the government. So they went to find the town head. After I resisted with my righteous thoughts, the town head told the officers from the province, "It is good that they are staying at home. Why bother them? If they are irritated and go to Beijing one by one, then that would be big trouble." So their attempt to send me to the brainwashing class ended there.

Master told us in "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference (2002),

"Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people. Don't take a detour when you run into difficulties."

Because government officials are directly involved in persecuting Dafa, they have greater influence. Therefore, I paid more attention to clarifying the truth to them. I mailed them truth-clarifying materials or talked with them in person. I often found chances to talk with our town head. Once I saw the town head sitting in front of a house, so I went and clarified the truth to him. I started from my own changes, talked about Dafa spreading in the world, the truth of the staged Tiananmen Square Self-immolation, and the fact that anyone who persecutes Dafa will receive karmic retribution. He listened very carefully. He also said, "Falun Gong is really fabulous. We were heavily bitten by mosquitoes while sitting here. However, once she started to clarify the truth, the mosquitoes were gone. "

Since then, whenever I am able to find a chance, I take the initiative to clarify the truth to government officials. After acknowledging the truth, the town head said, "Falun Gong practitioners are all kind people. Why bother them? Killers, arsonists, thieves, robbers, and gamblers are those who need to be arrested." So he asked to resign the position in which he was in charge of persecuting Falun Gong, and transferred to manage road renovation.

After the new town head was inaugurated, I often gave him the truth-clarifying materials. Now many officers in the town smile at me and say, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Falun Dafa is good, I remember."

The police chief and the police are the main targets of my truth-clarification. After they learned the truth, they would not again interfere in the group study and group exercise sessions at practitioners' homes. Instead, they would tell us, "If you want to practice, you may do it at home. If you want to post a message, write it, but not in the most obvious place on the street."

Of course, during these years of truth-clarification, I have met some people that were deeply swindled by the lies. They had a very bad attitude. Master said in "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference,"

"...you absolutely shouldn't be discouraged or apathetic. Do this compassionately no matter who it is, and with a compassion that can melt steel you'll be able to do it well."

When faced with scolding, I can still calmly clarify the truth and reason with them. Some people changed their attitude just because of this.

I have also encountered several occasions when police attempted to arrest me. I was even illegally arrested two times, however, I escaped under Master's protection. Once, the county police and 610 office staff took me to a police station and asked the source of my truth-clarifying materials. I didn't cooperate with them at all and kept on sending forth righteous thoughts. With Master's protection, after one day and night, I walked out of the police station. Master said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Chicago Conference,"

"We negate even the very emergence of the old forces and everything that they've arranged; we don't even acknowledge their existence. We're fundamentally negating all of their things, and all of, and only, the things you do while negating and getting rid of them is mighty-virtue. It's not that you're cultivating amidst the ordeals they created. Rather, you are to walk your own path well while not acknowledging them, not even acknowledging the elimination of their ordeals' manifestations. (Applause) So looking at it from this angle, what we need to do is completely negate the old forces. Dafa disciples and I don't even acknowledge the manifestations of their last-ditch efforts."

I realize that the only way we cannot let the evil take advantage of us is by firmly believing in Master, firmly believing in Dafa and strictly following Dafa principles. We should live up to Master's mercy and arduous salvation and be diligent all the way along the cultivation path.
