Falun Dafa

Whereas: Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is an advanced traditional Chinese Qigong practice for improving the mind and body through gentle exercise and meditation; and

Whereas: a system of body-mind-spirit, emphasizing the principle of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance), which has helped numerous people turn away from bad habits to pursue more meaningful lives; and

Whereas: over 100 million people in over 40 countries have benefited through learning Falun Dafa; and

Whereas: Falun Gong practitioners have visited hundreds of cities across Canada to participate in community events and voluntarily offer introductory lessons;

Now Therefore: I, Don Amos, Mayor, do hereby proclaim the month of

May 2005

As

"Falun Dafa Month"

in the Town of Sidney, Province of British Columbia.
