Canada: Mayor of Port Coquitlam Proclaims Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in the City of Port Coquitlam [May, 2005]

(Clearwisdom.net) In May, 2005, Mayor, Scott W. Young, of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, Province of British Columbia, Canada, proclaimed month of May, 2005 as "Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and extend their warm greeting and congratulations.

Proclamation

Whereas: Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners are joyously celebrating the 13^th anniversary of Falun Dafa's introduction to the public on May 13, 2005 with festivals and public celebrations to be held across Canada throughout the month of May; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial boundaries, and is practiced by over 100 million people in over 60 countries around the world; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa is a traditional Chinese self-improvement system or cultivation practice, that guides practitioners to mental, and physical well-being, through exercise, meditation and the guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa has benefited hundreds of Canadians and Canadian society as a whole by promoting the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and teaching its practitioners to find peaceful and rational ways to resolve even the most severe adversity; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa's contribution to society has been widely recognized and honored around the world, receiving hundreds of awards and proclamations since Mr. Li Hongzhi introduced it to the public in 1992; and

Whereas: Falun Dafa's practitioners determination and courage to stand up for Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance under the most severe environment reminds us of the value of life and the preciousness of human dignity;

Now Therefore: I, Scott W. Young, Mayor of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, Do Hereby Proclaim May 2005 as:

"Falun Dafa Month Honoring

Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance"

and extend our warm greeting and congratulations
