By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) My mother, Xu Guizhi, used to have heart disease, rheumatism, emphysema, tracheitis, and narrowing of the space between her heart valves. She stayed in the hospital and had to take medicine all year round because of her poor health. My father, Pei Ru, was labeled by society as a capitalist, which is very negative in China, and was criticized every day. Life was miserable for us. At the beginning of 1999, my mother started following the teachings of Falun Dafa. She got rid of all her diseases after she had practiced Falun Dafa for six months. My mother said joyfully, "My life was full of suffering until I began practicing Falun Dafa. This is the happiest time of my life."

My father had a blood clot in the brain. Seeing my mother recover from all her ailments after practicing Falun Dafa, he also began to practice and felt great in less than a week's time. But the evil propaganda came from all directions after the persecution started on July 20, 1999. Programs about so-called practitioners committing suicide and murder were aired non-stop on TV in an effort to slander Falun Dafa. The township police illegally detained my brother at the township government office. My mother could not take the shock and fainted. We sent her to the hospital and she died there in January 2000.

After my mother's funeral, we came together as a family to remember our past and the persecution we suffered personally. My father said, "Communism is what the Communist Party uses to cheat people. The Communist Party is too vicious. It will be finished sooner or later."

My father was concerned about me all the time, fearing that the police would abduct and persecute me. Later, he lost his ability to speak and died soon after. However, he was clear in his heart. While I was consoling him, I said, "If Jiang Zemin had not launched this campaign of persecution, my mother would not have died. You would have recovered as well." My father, before he died, nodded with all his strength at what I had said and shed heartrending tears. He died in January 2003.
