My Understanding of the "Largest Nationwide Assault on Falun Gong"

(Clearwisdom.net) After the article entitled, "Practitioners Pursued and Arrested as CCP Launches Largest Nationwide Assault on Falun Gong Since July 20, 1999" was published on April 22, 2005, (http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2005/4/22/59968.html) it deeply impacted our local practitioners. A lot of practitioners who did not look at the event from the standpoint of the Fa used everyday people's notions to look at the event. They hid Dafa books, materials and truth clarification related equipment (eg. glue adhesive) and they also stopped doing the three things required of us by Teacher. They considered the event to be just another political development in society, and thus they acknowledged the old forces' arrangements. The abovementioned article was intended to expose the evils' plot to persecute Falun Gong and stop the persecution, but some of our practitioners developed an attachment of fear after reading the article, revealing their human notions which should have been eliminated a long time ago.

I'd like to talk about my understanding of the abovementioned article. Practitioners' cultivation paths are all systematically arranged by Teacher. Why would "The Largest Nationwide Assault on Falun Gong" ever occur? Doesn't it come to test practitioners' xinxing? Everything that happens around us is for a specific reason and its purpose is for us to look inside ourselves, improve ourselves, eliminate our fears and eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts. Through this we establish our mighty virtue. Why do we always use an everyday person's mentality to look at our environment in those critical moments, rather than using practitioner's righteous thoughts to resolve the issue and really look inside ourselves to find our attachments? Why don't we see these as opportunities to improve ourselves?

We always talk about denying the old forces' arrangements, but at the critical moment we often unintentionally agree to their arrangements and walk the path that they have arranged for us. When you hide your Dafa books and materials with fear in your heart, isn't that accepting the old forces' arrangements? The old forces will follow your fears to find you and persecute you, and this will create additional difficulty for your own cultivation. Actually, all things that happen in our daily lives are illusions that change with the attitude of our heart. It is all connected to our xinxing, and it can all be used to expose our shortcomings and help us improve ourselves.

My personal understanding of this nationwide assault on Falun Gong is that Teacher has pushed forward the Fa-rectification. When Teacher pushes ahead, evils will follow. We, as practitioners, should base our understandings on the Fa when we look at this problem and then really improve our own xinxing, denying the evils' arrangements without being affected by them. Whatever we need to do, we should still do it, while at same time sending out righteous thoughts to eliminate interference, and building up our own skills and credibility to help us save the sentient beings. The old forces took advantage of this opportunity because a lot of practitioners did not have righteous thoughts and they did not use the Fa to understand this event. Instead they used everyday people's notions, and tackled it with an ordinary heart. This is the very reason that "the largest nationwide assault on Falun Gong" occurred according to the old forces' wishes. The actual reason is that throughout China there are practitioners who have not cultivated well for some time, and they were taken advantage of by the evil.

Each practitioner should calm down and look inside to find his or her attachments, and think about where we might not have cultivated well. Have we really gotten rid of our fears? Have we sent righteous thoughts when we should and really calmed down to study Zhuan Falun? Have we really fulfilled our historic responsibility?

When you really let go of your human heart and look inside yourself, everything will all change in line with your heart. When you really open your pure heart and follow the Fa with determination, then everything will happen just as Teacher describes in Zhuan Falun:

It doesn't matter what so-called old forces or evils there are, they should not even exist -

they are all caused by human attachments. If you are not affected by them, then you will be able to surpass the constraint of human notions and become a mighty deity.
