Austria: Exposing the Persecution and Commemorating the April 25, 1999 Peaceful Appeal (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On April 23, 2005, Austrian Falun Gong practitioners
held an anti-torture exhibition in Steven Square in the center of Vienna to
commemorate the sixth anniversary of the "April 25" peaceful appeal
and to let people know about the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in

activity It was an exceptionally warm day and Steven Square was crowded
with tourists from all over the world. We prepared leaflets about Falun Gong and
the "April 25" appeal in ten languages so that most of the tourists
could receive information in their native tongue. People were shocked when they
saw simulations of the cruel torture used in attempts to force Falun Gong
practitioners in China to renounce their beliefs. Many people asked how they
could help and whether they could sign a petition to support Falun Gong. Chinese tourists took leaflets from us, watched our exercise demonstration
and looked at the photo display and anti-torture exhibition. Some said that
their friends and family in China also practice Falun Gong and they had seen our
Video-CD. Others said they would tell their friends that many people of all
races practice Falun Gong outside of China. A person from the Austrian Minority Association came to understand the
persecution against Falun Gong after having seen the anti-torture exhibition and
our leaflet. He hoped that China's human rights situation will improve soon and
that the persecution will be brought to an end. The on-duty policeman in the
square said that he had read our material while watching our anti-torture
exhibition. He understood the persecution that is taking place in China and felt
that it was unbelievable. A painter saw our picture in a newspaper and said that the picture was
beautiful. He added, "Your facial expressions give people a sense of
serenity and peace. The communist government could never help people obtain a
harmonious life in the manner that Falun Gong teaches. That is why they feel
they must persecute Falun Gong." He hoped that we could always maintain
this kind of positive outlook no matter what happens and use our minds to
eliminate bad elements and wake up those who still do not know the truth. He
promised he would do the same. Those who understand the truth smiled at us in the bright sunshine and gave
us blessings, hoping the brutal prosecution will end soon.
