Sweden: Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day in Gothenburg (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The 13th of May marked the thirteenth anniversary of the introduction of Falun Gong to the public, as well as the sixth World Falun Dafa Day. Falun Gong practitioners in Gothenburg and nearby cities shared this joyful day with the Swedish people through dance and the distribution of colorful balloons and paper lotus flowers in busy parks in the heart of the city.

People stopped to watch the performances of Falun Gong practitioners. When four girls dressed in pink costumes performed traditional Chinese dance, people could not help but praise them: "It is so beautiful."

Ten years ago, Master Li Hongzhi came to Sweden and held a seven-day Falun Gong class in Gothenburg. At that time around one hundred Swedish people took part in the class. Ten years later, Falun Gong exercise sites have increased from one to over forty and spread from one city to all over the country. Practitioners have increased from a hundred to thousands. Among them, ninety per cent are Swedish people. Falun Gong is deeply rooted in the hearts of the Swedish people.

Although Falun Gong practitioners in China have been persecuted for nearly six years, the number of practitioners is rising. Almost all Swedish people know about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The Swedish government and Parliament, along with various human rights organizations and well-known people with a sense of justice, have on many occasions condemned the Chinese Communist Party for the persecution. Urged on by Falun Gong practitioners, people signed their names on a petition calling for an end to the human rights atrocities against Falun Gong in China.
