(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Dafa in February 1998. During seven years of Fa-study and Fa-rectification, I deeply felt Teacher's mercy and the divine power of the Fa. It was Teacher who gave me a second life and led me on the path of returning to my true self. I can't express in words how thankful I am to Teacher; I can only do my best to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa to people and save people according to what Teacher has said.

With Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions, Firmly Cultivate With Falun Dafa

Before practicing Falun Gong, my wife had such diseases as emphysema, tension headaches, cataracts, neurasthenia, gastritis, prolapsed stomach, a duodenal ulcer, and so on. She suffered a lot. It didn't matter how many doctors examined her, how many different medicines she took, or how much she spent on medical treatment; these diseases were not cured even a bit. Moreover, every day they got worse. Only a few days after she started practicing Falun Gong, my wife's health visibly improved. A month later, she had totally changed and become a new person whose many illnesses had disappeared. Seeing her health change through practicing Falun Gong, I became determined to study the Fa and practice the exercises. Thus, my wife and I both joined the course of cultivation. It didn't matter if it was raining or a windy day -- day or night, we never stopped studying the Fa and practicing the exercises.

On July 20, 1999, as we were continuously making progress during the course of cultivation, the Chinese government started persecuting Falun Gong. Some fellow practitioners became unsure about whether to continue practicing or not. Some of them quit practicing altogether; some handed Teacher's books over to the authorities; some people tried to persuade me to quit too. Regardless of what people said, there was only one thought in my heart: to firmly believe Teacher and Dafa.

One day in December 2001, the day the evil was most rampant, over twenty practitioners, including me, were arrested and taken to the police station. It was extremely cold that day; yet, the police took off my winter coat and forced me to stay outside in the freezing cold all day and all night. In the meantime, they asked whether I would continue to practice or not. They also wanted the names of other practitioners. With strong righteous thoughts, I didn't cooperate with them and didn't betray my fellow practitioners. The police shocked me with electric-batons and kicked me with leather boots. I was relatively thin and small, the police kicked me so hard that I fell to the ground and rolled over twice. However, I didn't feel any pain while the police shocked or kicked me. I also didn't feel the cold while standing outside. I knew that Teacher was protecting me. The police could do nothing with me, so they told my family to pay a fine and then, they released me.

The town authorities knew I was a Falun Gong practitioner. Therefore, they held brainwashing sessions for the people who were both communist party members and Falun Dafa practitioners. The town government officials also lectured me about the Chinese Communist Party members not being allowed to practice Falun Gong (according to documents from Party Central). They threatened me with dismissal from the Party if I practiced again. I replied, "My wife and I had many illnesses before, but after practicing Falun Gong we recovered from the diseases. Why not practice such a good cultivation method? Even if my party membership is canceled, I will still practice Falun Gong." The town officials couldn't convince me to stop practicing Falun Gong, so they asked an official from the city government to talk to me. He said, "You are nearly 70 years old, and you are a senior party member with over 40 years in the Communist Party. Party Central doesn't allow people to practice Falun Gong, so do not do it." I told him about the changes my wife and I experienced in both mind and body because of cultivating Falun Dafa. The authorities from the city and the town found that neither of them could convert me, so they told me to go home to think carefully. With righteous thoughts and righteous actions, I broke through and at the same time, my confidence in cultivation practice became even firmer.

A Miracle Happened to Me

Before practicing Falun Gong, I frequently had pains in my lower abdomen without knowing the cause; even taking medicine and having injections did not make the pain go away. In the second half of 2002, the pain from my abdomen worsened. In the first half of 2003, I vomited and suffered from bloody diarrhea, which lasted for a long time. One day in April 2004, when my wife and I were practicing the Falun Gong exercises, I suddenly blacked out and lost consciousness. My family members took me to a hospital and I was diagnosed with a malignancy in my bowel. It required immediate surgery; otherwise my life would be in danger. When the surgeon opened my abdominal cavity, the doctors were surprised to see that about a meter of my large intestine was black and festering. On the sixth day after the operation, my abdominal cavity filled with a large amount of fluid, which broke the stitches and my intestines popped out of my abdomen. My family was afraid that my intestines would fall out onto the ground, so they pushed my intestines back inside and used their hands to hold it all together for more than three hours until I arrived at the hospital and had another surgery. Before the second surgery, a doctor told my son that perhaps I could not make it through another surgery. The doctor told my son to prepare for the worst. Actually I heard all of their conversations during my stupor. I felt as if some power, a great power had strengthened me to go through the surgery. After the second surgery, fluid built up and the wound opened again and would not heal. This time, the doctors told my family that they could not sew my abdomen any more. After my family repeatedly pleaded with the doctors, they sewed the wound back together again. My abdomen was wrapped in gauze. My family was told that nothing further could be done and they should go ahead and make arrangements for my funeral. After coming back from the hospital, I couldn't get out of bed, so I lay in bed and read Teacher's books and practiced the exercises. A month later, a miracle happened. I didn't hiccup anymore, nor did I produce gas. Without taking any medicine or having any injections, I didn't feel any pain in my abdomen. I did not have any food, water, or infusion of any kind for a month; yet I didn't feel hungry or thirsty at all. The muscle was replaced from inside the wound's edges even though the stitches hadn't healed. A month later I could get out of bed. Three months later I went to work in the field, and now I am back to normal. Dafa revealed its divine power to me. It was the mercy of our great Teacher who pulled me back from the road to death and gave me a second life.

Clarifying the Truth and Validating the Fa

The hospital was afraid that I might die there, so even though my wound wasn't completely wrapped, my family was urged to take me home. The hospital even waived the expenses. I was a person who the hospital had sentenced to death. Even the neighbors thought I wouldn't live. After my miraculous recovery from the surgery, whenever people saw me in person, they were all astonished. After I explained how I had recovered through practicing Falun Gong, the entire village, town, and hospital all admired the divine power of Falun Dafa.

With our own experiences as examples, my wife and I tell people how many benefits we have received through practicing Falun Dafa. From the perspective of our minds and bodies, we introduce the goodness of Dafa to people. At the same time we expose the evil actions of the Communist Party's slandering of Falun Dafa and the brutal persecution of practitioners. Even in the coldest winter or hottest summer, we don't stop clarifying the facts to people from one street to the next, and anywhere and at anytime. Due to the unceasing "clarification of the truth" by local practitioners, more people now understand that Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa to save people and that it teaches compassion. People have also come to understand the evil essence of the Communist Party. The environment around us has changed. From 2003 to the winter of 2004, more than 200 people have become Dafa practitioners and have started their journeys of cultivation practice.
