Police Use Crank Telephones to Administer Extremely Painful Shock Torture to Practitioners in Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) The "Crank Telephone" torture involves fastening the two wires of an old style crank telephone to both the victim's ears or thumbs. When the police turn the crank, the electric current flows through the victim's body. The victim's entire body convulses, but the current seems to concentrate in the heart. The victim's tongue becomes stiff so that he cannot speak, but only cry out in extreme pain. After being subjected to this treatment, the victims' thumbs or ears are both charred. The following incidents are examples of Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured with crank telephones by police in Puji Town and Guanzhuang Village police stations in Zhangqiu City, Jinan, Shandong Province.

In early July 2000, I was arrested and detained in a detention center in Zhangqiu City. Several days later, practitioner Ms. Meng Yulian from Puji Town was arrested and locked in the same cell with me.

I saw that a bloody fluid flowed constantly from her mouth. She told me that the police had ransacked her house. They confiscated Teacher's articles and took her to the Puji Town Police Station, where the police used a crank telephone to torture her with electric shock. They fastened the telephone wires to her ears and continued to shock her non-stop. They demanded to know where she got the Falun Dafa materials. She refused to answer so they continued to shock her. It was so painful that Ms. Meng bit right through her tongue. Blood flowed from her mouth in an unending stream. The pain was indescribable. Torture methods like this are forbidden in the international community, yet the Jiang regime has used it to torture innocent people who practice "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." To prevent her from crying out, the police stuffed a cloth in her mouth and continued to shock her. They threatened, "If you don't tell us who gave you the materials, we'll tie the wires to your breasts to shock you." Later they locked her in the detention center.

We were detained together for one month in the same cell. In that entire time, the bloody fluid kept flowing from her month, even at night when she slept. She couldn't drink or eat anything. When I was released, the bloody fluid was still flowing from her mouth.

Practitioner Ms. Hou Yujuan from Shuiquan Village, Puji Town, was detained in another cell. Officers from the Puji Police Station shocked her twice with the hand crank telephone. The painful cries heard from her room stabbed at the heart of every practitioner there.

Mr. Meng Aijun, a practitioner from Dayanman Village, Guanzhuang Village, Zhangqiu City, was arrested by police from the Guanzhuang Station for going to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. Police officer Zhai Xianwen shocked him using a crank telephone. Mr. Meng was shocked so severely that he could not control his bodily functions. He was later detained in the Zhangqiu City Detention Center for one month.

Mr. Yu Tao from East Fanliu Village, Guanzhuang Village, was arrested by Guanzhuang Village Police Station officers for appealing for Falun Dafa in Beijing. He also was tortured with a crank telephone.

Falun Dafa practitioner Meng Fengjun was tortured with a crank telephone in a police station in Zhangqiu City.
