New Practitioner in America: My Experience Quitting Smoking

(Clearwisdom.net) I came to America from Mainland China. In November 2004, I was fortunate enough to meet Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang, and I learned about Falun Gong through him. At that time my health was not very good. I practiced Falun Gong with the idea of curing my illness. Mr. Wang loaned me his copy of Zhuan Falun and asked me to finish it as soon as possible. I finished reading it in one week. Then I discovered that my tracheitis was getting better.

I had no contact with Falun Gong practitioners before this. Poisoned by the Chinese media, I always thought that they had some political agenda. After knowing them for a while, I found that they were very nice and considerate of others, without any pursuit of fame and personal gain.

From then on, I believed in Dafa more and more. After listening to recorded tapes of Teacher's nine-day lectures in Guangzhou, I really obtained the Fa. I participated in the Dafa Experience Sharing Conference in New York this April and had the opportunity to listen to Teacher's lecture. I understood much more from it and gained a lot.

I had smoked for more than 10 years and could not give it up. But the day after I came back from the Fa conference, I found that cigarettes no longer smelled good to me. I decided then to quit smoking. Smoking is not good for a non-practitioner, let alone for a Dafa practitioner. It took me more than 10 days to quit entirely. During the process, I only had the desire of smoking on the third and fourth days. Quitting was not a big deal for me. I felt certain that Teacher was helping me. Through this event, I realized deeply the importance of Fa study.

I will study the Fa diligently in the future and be a qualified cultivator.

Lucky 87-Year-Old Man in Shandong Province Obtained Dafa

I am a Dafa practitioner in the rural area of Shandong Province. I am 87 years old and obtained Dafa in 2002. Before practicing Falun Gong, I suffered many illnesses. A serious problem related to my gallbladder almost took my life. The doctor said: "The surgery is too dangerous for your age. You may as well go home to make the funeral arrangement."

My daughter used to have high blood pressure, protrusion of the vertebrate and a heart condition, but all of her ailments disappeared after practicing Falun Dafa. After July 1999, when Jiang's faction started to persecute Dafa brutally, I was afraid to study it. Even though I knew deep down in my heart that Dafa was great, I was scared and even tried to prevent my daughter from studying it. When I was critically ill, my daughter clarified the truth about Dafa in front of my hospital bed and read Zhuan Falun to me. I realized that this was the true Fa with high virtue that I had been seeking for years.

Each day after I washed my hands, I studied the Fa attentively. After more than 10 days of Fa study, I realized that to be a human being was not our goal. It was to return to our original, true selves following the guidance of Dafa. Thus, I studied the Fa day after day. Our compassionate Teacher purified my body and mind, and rescued me from death.

My gratitude to Teacher is beyond words. I must firmly cultivate Dafa and do well the three things as asked by Teacher.
