(Clearwisdom.net) I started to practice Falun Gong in February 1999, when I was 41 years old. My five-month long group practice experiences were quite positive. Unprecedented physical and mental changes occurred, and all my illnesses disappeared. I could walk very fast and always felt energetic. Falun Dafa showed its magnificence in everything, and I felt proud to be a practitioner. However, the persecution started on July 20 and destroyed the group practice environment. Ignoring the lies the mass media told about Dafa, my belief in Master Li and Dafa has never wavered.

On September 4, 2004, I learned that my mother, who lived in northeastern China, not only had bladder cancer, but that it was in the final stages. I was devastated by the news. My mother had begun to practice Falun Gong in 1997, but she did not persist in her practice after the persecution started. She was seventy-five years old. I suddenly realized, "I am a practitioner. I should calm down and handle things with righteous thoughts." I quickly settled down to figure out what to do and decided to visit my mother. Before I left home, fellow practitioners reminded me to send forth righteous thoughts, and they also sent forth righteous thoughts for me.

When I arrived at my mother's home, I found that her very thin and pale. She had a lot of blood in her urine and was under heavy medication. Faced with this situation, I did not form an attachment to it and did not think about what might or might not happen. All my thoughts were on my role as a Falun Gong practitioner and my responsibility to save sentient beings. I did whatever I needed to do. I treated her not only as my mother but also as a fellow practitioner. I tried to encourage her to form and maintain her righteous thoughts. In addition, I reminded her that whatever she did should be on the basis of the Fa and to treat herself as a true practitioner with unwavering faith in our Master and Dafa. We studied the Fa, practiced the exercises, and sent forth righteous thoughts together.

On my third day there, my mother told us in tears that Master was purifying her body. When she started to meditate, Faluns were turning around her. She also felt much better than before.

After one week, my eldest brother wanted to schedule my mother's surgery. The doctor then told us that the surgery was very dangerous and that there was a possibility that my mother could die during surgery. My mother said with confidence, "I am a Dafa disciple. I will put my faith in Master and Dafa. I will not proceed with the operation." My eldest brother said with doubt, "Is this okay?" I answered, "With unwavering faith in our Master and the Fa, Dafa is very powerful!" My mother continued to study the Fa, practice the exercises, and send forth righteous thoughts. Her condition improved daily. When my sisters saw the miracle of Dafa, they started to practice the exercises with my mother. I told my second brother and sister-in-law, who are also practitioners, about the situation. They were so happy that they came to my mother's home with six copies of Zhuan Falun.

One month quickly passed, and my mother regained her health. Many of my relatives started to practice Falun Gong after they heard this. My mother started to use every chance to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. All of these things happened because of Master's compassion and the magnificence of Dafa.
