Seven Falun Dafa Practitioners from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) At around 8 a.m. on May 13, 2005, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Dan, 31, from Guanghua Village, Lequn Township, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province was cleaning up the firewood in her front yard. Suddenly a group of police officers stormed in and dragged her to a vehicle parked on the street. Her ten-year-old child was left at home alone. The chickens she raised were left unattended. Another Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Shouhua , 40, was also arrested when she was working in her yard.

The police arrested seven Falun Dafa practitioners and held them all in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. Witnesses said that 30-40 policemen arrived in five police vans. They were led by the Lequn Township Police Substation Director Kong Qingman (male) and the Guanghua Village Head Zhao Chunxi (male). It is the busy farming season, and every family has endless work to do. Besides, every family has elderly family members and young children. The locals are saying that the police cannot tell good from bad; they arrested only good people, and do not allow farmers to live a peaceful life. The people were angry about these arrests, yet out of fear, they dared not voice their objections.

The safety of these seven practitioners is a matter of concern because so many tragic torture cases have taken place in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center. Police officers Zhang Guofu, Jin Wanzhi, Zhu Xiaobo and others have tortured many practitioners. More than twenty practitioners have been tortured to death in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center, and countless practitioners have been sentenced to forced labor camps or prisons. No one really knows how many families have been broken apart due to the persecution.
