A Public Miracle

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Falun Gong practitioner in Changchun, Jilin Province. At 6:00 p.m. on May 17, 2003, I was crossing the street when a car suddenly sped toward me. I couldn't get out of the way in time. The next thing I knew, I heard a woman shrieking, and I felt myself thrown up in the air and then slammed down on the ground.

The driver braked and got out immediately. Soon a large crowd gathered around us. I asked the driver, "Where are my shoes?" The crowd shouted, "Are you all right? Your shoes were thrown 20 meters away. Check yourself for injuries first!"

I was still holding tightly to my bag, which contained a Falun Gong exercise music tape, a boom box and my cell phone. My glasses were also intact.

The driver brought me my shoes and crouched next to me nervously. He looked to be in his 40s and appeared to be some sort of government official. I thought, "This is a perfect opportunity to promote Falun Gong. Even if you are a police chief, I am obliged to tell you the truth about Falun Gong." I said to the driver, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I won't use this accident to take advantage of you. You are truly lucky today, so you should take this opportunity to learn the truth about Falun Gong. If you had hit a non-practitioner, you'd be in great trouble."

When the driver heard that I was a Falun Gong practitioner, he looked shocked at first. After I finished talking, he repeatedly nodded and said, "Falun Gong is good! Falun Gong is good!" I thought, "Today a Falun Gong miracle took place right in front of your very eyes." I stood up and walked towards my destination. I heard a woman saying aloud to the crowd behind my back, "I saw with my own eyes that the car hit her and threw her shoes off. It was terrible! She is extremely fortunate not to be injured! Falun Gong practitioners can truly create miracles!"

This car accident reminded me of a story that Teacher told in Zhuan Falun about a practitioner who was not injured in a car accident, though the driver's car was dented. I turned and looked at the driver and saw that he was still watching me from his car. I approached his car and found two dents in the front. You couldn't miss the dents because the car was new. I told the driver, "Your car is dented in two places." The driver kept checking me [for any sign of injury] and told me, "It's all right. Never mind." I headed towards my destination, which was the train station. The driver stayed for a while until he was certain I was perfectly okay before he finally took off slowly.

The crowd said, "Falun Gong practitioners are truly kind, generous, and merciful! Your belief is good. It's hard to find decent people like you."

I thought, "I am sure that these people will spread the miracle of Falun Gong that they have just witnessed to more people. Those who hear the story from them will have an opportunity to benefit from Teacher's salvation. Many people deny the existence of supernormal beings, but today, they saw Falun Gong's power firsthand!"
