Practitioners Ms. Zhang Jie and Mr. Wang Kaoyang Being Persecuted at the Xi'an Ankang Hospital Are on the Verge of Death

The Xi'an Ankang Hospital is used by the police and members of the judicial system. It also functions as a place to torture Falun Gong practitioners. Several Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted there and two practitioners, Ms. Zhang Jie and Mr. Wang Kaoyang, are on the verge of death.

Ms. Zhang Jie has been persecuted in the Xi'an Ankang Hospital for over two months. Because of the torture, her life is in danger. The police forcibly took Ms. Zhang to a detention center on March 10, 2005. She started a hunger strike to resist the detention and was sent to the Xi'an Ankang Hospital. The police at the hospital tortured her in various ways and injected her with unknown drugs. When she refused the injections and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," the police slapped her in the face. Each time, before she was injected, they tied her hands, feet and shoulders to a bed for about ten hours. Sometimes she was forced to sleep on a bare plank as her bed. She was kept tied up and not allowed to use the toilet, so she was forced to urinate in her pants and on the bed. The drugs that the police force-fed her caused her to throw up a yellow liquid, while her urine turned red. On some evenings, it was impossible for her to sleep. Even in such a situation, she was force-fed and her stomach was in extreme pain. Since she did not cooperate with those police, they found it very hard to insert the tube into her mouth. The police never cared about her life; they would forcibly insert the tube into her mouth. Sometimes, the tube entered her windpipe. Each time, her nose or mouth would bleed because of the tube insertion. Once, when the police failed to insert the tube into her mouth after over ten attempts, Liu Qi, the head nurse, hit her face in anger.

Mr. Wang Kaoyang, a male Falun Gong practitioner, from Xinjiang Province, is on the verge of death after being tortured on the Iron Chair (1) and force-fed for 20 days.

The doctors at the Xi'an Ankang Hospital inject the Falun Gong practitioners with large doses of drugs that damage the central nervous system. The victims have symptoms of dizziness, drooling, dull reactions and memory loss. More severe situations can make the practitioners lose consciousness.

The doctors at the Xi'an Ankang Hospital also used beds that are intended for mental disorder patients to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They use white cloth strips to tie the practitioners' wrists, ankles, shoulders and waist before injecting them. Head nurse Liu Qi force-feeds almost every female practitioner. The officer on guard and prisoners all participate in the persecution. They use force to place the practitioners on the "Dead Person's Bed" and tie them up with belts before proceeding to force-feed or inject them.

We call upon all the kindhearted people in the world to pay attention to the atrocities taking place and do all that is necessary to stop this persecution.

The following is the list of Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted at the Xi'an Ankang Hospital.

Ms. Zhang Jie, female, her life is in danger.
Ms. Bai Changling, female, was sentenced to one-year's forced labor. She suffers from high blood pressure and heart disease. She is still detained at the Xi'an Xin'an Hospital.
Mr. Wang Kaoyang, male, his life is in danger after being tortured on the "Iron Chair" and force-fed for 20 days.
Wang Jiali, Wang Huijun and Li Yanfang may still be on hunger strike.

Wang Jiali from Xi'an Jiaotong University
Ma Yonghua, Huo Guilan, Zhang Yuxian, Liu Aiying, Li Jiuyu from Xi'an City
Wang Yulan from Gaoling County, Xi'an City
Zhang Jie from the Xi'an Labor Technology School

Sun Yuncheng, Huo Guilan, Zhang Yuxian, and Bai Changling have been sent to Xi'an Ankang Hospital twice for persecution

Li Zhao and Zhou Jiankui (college student) were arrested for passing out Falun Gong truth clarification materials, and have been sentenced to one-year of forced labor. They are in the Zhaozihe Labor Camp in Shaanxi Province.

(1) Iron Chair - The iron chair is made of iron pipes. Practitioners are restrained on the iron chairs with both arms and legs tied for a long period of time and are not untied, even to go to the bathroom.
