Proclamation of Falun Gong Week, City of Newport News, Virginia [July 10, 2005]

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 10^th, 2005, Mayor Joe S. Frank of the City of Newport News, Virginia proclaimed the week of Sunday, July 10 through Sunday, July 17, 2005, as Falun Gong Week in the City of Newport News and encouraged all citizens to experience the powers and meditative qualities of Falun Dafa for their own self-enrichment.

Proclamation

Whereas, Falun Dafa, also called Falun Gong, began in China in 1992, as a self-improvement practice rooted in ancient Chinese culture that promotes the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance; and

Whereas, Falun Gong use gentle exercises and meditation to achieve the goals of a pure heart, a balanced mind, and an energized body; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa is designed to help people improve their physical condition, cleanse their mind, uplift their moral standards, and rid bad habits; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa has helped to preserve precious human traditions such as honesty courtesy, loyalty, and unselfishness; and

Whereas, more than 100 million people from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds have physical and mental wellness and moral ascension through practicing Falun Dafa.

Now, therefore, I, Joe S. Frank, Mayor of the City of Newport News, do hereby proclaim the week of Sunday, July 10 through Sunday, July 17, 2005, as

Falun Gong Week

in the City of Newport News and encourage all citizens to experience the powers and meditative qualities of Falun Dafa for their own self-enrichment.
