Press Release: Complaint Filed Against Four Chinese Communist Party Leaders of the 610 Office for Harassment of Belgian Citizens

Facing Chinese espionage & interference in Belgium

Two Belgian citizens filed a complaint against those responsible within the Chinese Communist regime for harassing them and attacking their way of life: "SCHOLS Nicolas and SHI Yuhong VS. LUO Gan, ZHOU Yongkang, LIU Jing and XU Yongyue."

Georges-Henri Beauthier, lawyer for the plaintiffs, will elucidate the case during a Press Conference on Tuesday 19/07/05 10h30 at Palais de Justice - Salle des Pas Perdus - Place Poelaert, 1000 Bruxelles.

Being Falun Gong practitioners, Nicolas Schols and Yuhong Shi practice meditation exercises and follow truth, compassion and tolerance in their daily lives (www.falundafa.org). For 6 years now (since 20/07/1999) the Chinese Communist regime has relentlessly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners inside China through torture and killing. In addition, it has tried to extend this persecution outside China through defamation, blacklisting, espionage and harassment. (www.faluninfo.net)

Now the Chinese Communist Regime directly attacks and threatens Belgian citizens in Belgium, actively monitors their whereabouts and interferes with their lives. Two Belgian victims of these harassments received many phone calls in a short time, both in English and Chinese, defaming and slandering Falun Gong and its practitioners. To put an end to these interferences, they now file a complaint against those responsible.

The phone harassment wasn't limited to Belgium alone. Given the massive scope of the harassment -- hundreds of individuals in more than 20 countries -- it had to be a planned, coordinated and intentional effort. There is nothing coincidental about this deliberate campaign of intimidation. The phone harassment started shortly after the publication of "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party" by the newspaper The Epoch Times (www.theepochtimes.com/jiuping.asp) denouncing the CCP and its persecution of Falun Gong. The enthusiastic response -- up to now, more than 3,000,000 Chinese have openly and publicly quit the CCP (www.theepochtimes.com/211,92,,1.html) -- to this document by people in China and around the world, has enraged the CCP and led them to attempt to silence Falun Gong through this pattern of telephone harassment.

Against the background of these resignations a number of Chinese diplomats and spies have defected to the West. Australia and Canada have been confronted with testimonies about Chinese industrial espionage and plans for turning entire countries into outposts of the Chinese Communist Regime. Recently the story of a Chinese spy who defected to the Belgian state security and who exposed a large network of Chinese espionage in Belgium and surrounding countries was brought to the public.
