Recollections on July 20, the Sixth Anniversary of the Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) All Fa-rectification Dafa practitioners have deep impressions of July 20, 1999, as this was the day when former president Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Dafa and Dafa practitioners. It was also the day when righteousness started to prevail.

On July 20, 1999, when Dafa practitioners heard that the Public Security Bureau arrested many volunteer instructors, they all gathered in front of the Xinbin County Government offices and stood there quietly.

When it was time for the government officials to be on duty, Dafa practitioners went to the office to appeal, but the entire government building was empty. Dafa practitioners went back out to wait, and more and more practitioners gathered. Many passers-by stopped and looked, wondering what was going on. It was very hot, the sky was gloomy, and it was hard to even breathe.

More and more practitioners began to arrive. Some stood there quietly, some were reading and some were doing the Falun Gong exercises. There were no posters, no slogans, and there was no turmoil. The practitioners were there waiting for an answer from the County Government as to why so many Dafa volunteer instructors had been arrested. Around 11 a.m. that morning, the leaders of the County Government, the Political Legal Committee, and the Appeal office, met with some representatives of Falun Dafa practitioners. They did not give any reason for arresting so many volunteer instructors; they just said that they had been ordered to do so by the leaders above them. Then they told all the practitioners to leave. But if no reason could be given for arresting the practitioners, then the arrests were clearly illegal. Accordingly, the Dafa practitioners asked the government to release the volunteer instructors.

More practitioners gathered in front of the government building. They stood under the baking sun, streaming with sweat, but nobody left. People passing by talked about them: some said that they were foolish, some admired them for being of one mind, some wondered what they wanted. How could they understand Dafa practitioners? Only Dafa practitioners understand deep down that "Falun Dafa is Good!" They believed in the government and wanted the government to know what Falun Dafa really is.

The Public Security Bureau van arrived in front of the building, its loudspeaker ordering practitioners to leave immediately; meanwhile it spread the Party's evil propaganda. Its volume was extremely loud, attempting to scare the practitioners. Dafa practitioners came to appeal because they believed in their government, but the government answered them with terror and threats. Despite this, the practitioners still stood together. They still wanted to tell the government the truth about Falun Gong, that Falun Dafa benefits people's bodies and minds.

The loudspeaker blasting non-stop attempted to destroy Dafa practitioners' will and determination. Some practitioners' family members pulled them away. Most stood there firmly, determined to let the government know that "Falun Dafa is good!"

The Falun Dafa practitioners stood under the baking sun for a whole day. Nobody came out to give them any direct reply regarding why the authorities arrested so many Dafa volunteer instructors. The only voice was the loudspeaker and its threatening tone. It was getting dark and everyone still stood there quietly. Then about 11:30 p.m., many people rushed out of nowhere. They threw the practitioners onto a waiting bus, and some started to beat the practitioners. Some practitioners were dragged behind a statue in the Square and beaten. Most of the Dafa practitioners were shocked by the sudden violence against them. When they realized what was going on they had already ended up in a school and were being forced to register. They were all abducted by armed police, and were warned after the registration that they were forbidden to practice Falun Dafa anymore. Those Dafa practitioners who were registered became the focus of future persecution.

From that point on, the brutal persecution towards Xinbin County Dafa practitioners began in earnest. In spite of the evil and brutal persecution, the Dafa practitioners in Xinbin County never backed down. They still use their peaceful manner and their wisdom to clarify the truth about the persecution to all the people in the area, letting people know about Falun Dafa's principles of " Truth, Compassion, Forbearance." Falun Dafa is a practice with high moral values that lets people choose a wonderful future.
