New Practitioner: "Revered Teacher Gave Me a Second Chance at Life"

(Clearwisdom.net) My family lives in Anhui Province. I am 59 years old. One day during August 2003, I felt a small lump inside my neck. I went to the hospital and was informed that I had lymph cancer. Since my family was poor, my elder brother and children had to struggle to find twenty thousand yuan to pay for my medical treatment. I underwent surgery in the Hefei Hospital. Later I learned that the lymph cancer I had was malignant. Any further operation would accelerate its spread and hasten death. Since my family could not afford to pay for the treatment, the doctor advised my family not to spend more money. Whatever I wanted to eat, they just tried to accommodate my request. In the end, I ended up depending on some medication and vitamins to prolong my life.

During October of 2004, I was happy and most fortunate to come upon Dafa. There was a Falun Gong practitioner living in my village. He visited my husband and inquired about my illness. My husband replied that it was a "hopeless" case. Everyday, I had to depend on the medication to sustain my life. The Falun Gong practitioner told my husband to let me study and practice Falun Gong. As everything is free, he also gave him some information material. The next day I went to the practice site. Upon my arrival, fellow practitioners recited Zhuan Falun for me. Since I am illiterate, everyday I listened to the readings, and I also continued taking the injection treatments that I routinely received to fight my illness. On my third day of attending practice, while concentrating on the study, I forgot that it was time for me to receive my daily dose, so I missed the injection. From then onward, all my fever and symptoms went away, the wounds that were left from the operation also ceased to be painful.

That very night, I had a dream. In the dream, I saw beautiful houses and roads. The beauty and splendor could not be described and expressed by our language. The houses all had semi-circle, arch-shaped entrances, and there were many people inside. When I started to mention this at the practice site, fellow practitioners said that this was the path revered Teacher had arranged for me, and the choice was up to me. As I pondered in my heart, I knew I must walk the path arranged by our Teacher and follow it to the end.

In Zhuan Falun, Master said,

"You might not get a human body in several hundred years; perhaps you obtain it in one thousand years. Once you get a human body, you do not even know how to treasure it. If you reincarnate into a piece of rock, you will be unable to come out in ten thousand years. If that piece of rock is not smashed or weathered away, you will never be able to emerge. Attaining a human body is so difficult! If a person can truly obtain Dafa, this person is simply most fortunate."

No matter how busy I am, I need to listen to the Fa and practice the exercises.

From then onward, everyday, regardless of the weather conditions, I attended the practice session. Fellow practitioners recited the lectures for me to listen. In the opening paragraph of lecture one in Zhuan Falun, Master said,

"I do not talk about healing illness here, and neither will we heal illness. As a genuine practitioner, however, you cannot practice cultivation with an ill body. I will purify your body. The body purification will be done only for those who come to truly learn the practice and the Fa."

I became enlightened to Master's teachings in the Fa and from that day onward I measured every deed and action in my daily life with the Fa principles. My cancer miraculously disappeared without a trace. I became healthy, and my body weight went back up to around 120 pounds. The old clothing purchased by my children did not fit me any more. At present, I am still coming to the practice site to learn the Fa and practice the exercises. I am really happy. If I had not practiced Falun Dafa, the remains of my bones would have withered and turned to ashes by. It was our revered Teacher that granted me a second life.
