Taiwan: "We Hope that They Will Be As Happy As We Are" (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 20, 2005, students of the Chungli and Neili Minghui School in Taiwan started their regular Saturday afternoon Fa-study, exercise practice, sending forth righteous thoughts and practicing waist drums. The only thing different this time was that they also had a "Global Mission to Rescue Orphans of Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners" signature drive that afternoon.

After studying "Hong Yin II", an adult practitioner shared several pictures from the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance International Art Exhibition" with the little practitioners. One of the pictures was entitled, "Immoveable Jin Gang" [in Buddhist legend, Jin Gang was Buddha's Warrior Attendant]. In the picture, a female Falun Dafa practitioner sits in meditation. A vicious policeman is threatening her with a torture device, but she remains calm and immoveable. In the upper corner of the picture, a little angel grabs the policeman's torture device. During the sharing later on, some little practitioners said that the righteous thoughts like those of Jin Gang could stop evil and could also motivate Buddhas, Taos and Gods in other dimensions to help her. The teacher also reminded students to concentrate when sending forth righteous thoughts.

After sending forth righteous thoughts and studying Zhuan Falun, the teacher showed a cartoon, "Autumn Rains." In the cartoon, a song is heard with the words, "Dad and Mom were jailed. I was expelled from school. I want to go to school. I want to go to school... I want to go home. I want to go home." The story in the song is about the children of Falun Gong practitioners whose parents were illegally jailed or killed in the persecution. Some of the children had become homeless, and some were expelled from school.

There is a young man named Liu Xiaotian. His parents were both killed in the persecution and he was expelled from school. The policemen were following him, trying to kill him so as to cover up the crime. Xiaotian's uncle wanted to protect Xiaotian so he sold some property and borrowed money to send Xiaotian to Denmark through a smuggling channel. At first, the Danish government didn't know the truth about the persecution and wanted to deport Xiaotian back to China. After a rescue effort on the part of Falun Gong practitioners around the world and with other people's help as well, the Danish government learned about the cruel persecution of Falun Gong and let Xiaotian stay in the country. Now Xiaotian doesn't need to worry about the persecution directly, but he is concerned about more Mainland Falun Gong children who are still waiting for people to help rescue them.

After listening to the story, the students understood that by clarifying the truth, more people will stand up to help those homeless orphans in China. They signed their names on the signature drive form. One student who is entering Grade 1 said he would bring the form to his new classmates and schoolmates to collect more signatures.

The second part of the afternoon's activity was doing the Falun Gong exercise and practicing waist drums. Today, the students will also do the sitting meditation. Xiaoyu is entering Grade 4. She shared with other students that she realized that if we didn't study the Fa and do the exercise diligently, our world will be barren and dark. Besides, her little brother in kindergarten could meditate for one hour, so she was determined to do the same. Other students were encouraged by her and said they would be stricter with themselves.

During waist drum practice, the students helped each other. They treated themselves as practitioners and could feel the value of unselfishness and contribution. The waist drum team has been established for only two months. The students have been invited to perform several times already and there have many moving and inspiring stories, too.

Sure, there were times when the boys and girls were naughty, but growing up in an environment of "unselfishness" and "consideration," they will treasure the environment in which they can freely study the Fa and do the exercises. Through today's "Global Mission to Rescue Orphans of Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners" signature drive, they knew that they were the happiest children in the world. They want to clarify the truth to more people and to end the persecution earlier. Let's help more people know that "Falun Dafa is good" and help more people live as happily as these fortunate children.
