Taiwan: Children Enjoy Themselves and Learn about Kindness at Minghui Summer Camp (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 23 and 24, Minghui School held a summer camp at Yuanshan Farm, Tunghsiao Town, Miaoli County, Taiwan, and seventy-six children from the town participated. Most of them did not know about Falun Gong before. The activity was jointly held by the Taiwan Minghui Education Association, the Tunghsiao Town Government, and the Tunghsiao Women's Association. Through a series of lively activities, the focus of the summer camp was to awaken and encourage the children's kindness and help them to be good people in their daily lives. Each of the children benefited a lot from the experience.

The event started off with a speech by Tunghsiao Town Supervisor, Wu Hong-chao. He told the children to enjoy themselves in this interesting event. The two-day session was packed full, including teaching the Falun Gong exercises, watching cartoons, making paper art, dancing, reading, a campfire and other activities.

On the first morning, Falun Gong was introduced and the children were taught how to make folded paper lotus flowers. Through this activity, the children learned about the symbolism of the lotus flower and how to be good people following the principles of Truth, Compassion, Forbearance.

In the afternoon, Master Li's Grand Poem was introduced and the children watched an animated feature. The children behaved very well when reading Grand Poem and On Buddha Law. The evening activity ended at 9:30 p.m. and the children happily went to bed afterwards.

On the second day, the children got up at 6 a.m. and practiced the exercises together. For most of them, it was the first time for them to get up to practice Falun Gong. Then from 10 to 11 a.m., it was craft time and the children made flower containers with recycled paper and soft drink containers.

The afternoon class was also interesting and the whole classroom was peaceful. At 4 p.m., the summer camp session was nearing the end. Everyone hurried to have a group photo taken, and to get awards and a certificate of completion. Afterwards, the children returned home with a gift from the town supervisor and their own crafts made during the two days. When practitioners asked the children, "What have you learned during the two days?" "Falun Dafa is great!" the children answered. "What else?" "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance!" "Will you come to the summer camp again?" "Yes!" answered the children.
