VOA: Falun Gong Practitioners Appeal 24 Hours a Day outside Hu's Hotel in New York

(Clearwisdom.net) According to Voice of America's report on September 13, 2005, when the head of the Chinese Communist Party, Hu Jintao, flew from Mexico to New York to attend the United Nations' World Summit, Falun Gong supporters, people from Taiwanese organizations and pro-democratic organizations held a rally, parade and demonstration to protest Hu Jintao.

According to the VOA report, a Falun Gong spokeswoman in New York, Ms. Yi Rong said, "We've been appealing through practicing the Falun Gong exercises outside the Waldorf Hotel since early morning. We call on Hu Jintao to immediately end the suppression of Falun gong and bring Jiang Zemin and other chief perpetrators to justice. On September 14, we will march from the Chinese Consulate in New York to the United Nations Headquarters. We will show up during the three days when Hu is in New York and we'll hold a 24-hour-a-day petition outside the Waldorf Hotel."

The report stated that since the morning of September 13, a great number of Falun Gong supporters, people from Taiwanese organizations and pro-democracy organizations gathered outside the Waldorf Hotel where Hu is staying in New York. Through meditation and exercises as well as a rally, they protested the Chinese Communist regime's imprisonment of Falun Gong practitioners and dissidents, its human rights violations and its deprival of people's fundamental freedoms.
