Latest News from China - September 18, 2005 (Clearwisdom.net) 1. [Hubei Province] Wan Guifang Suffers Mental Collapse After Torture in
Hubei Shayang Forced Labor Camp Ms. Wan Guifang, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jianli County, Hubei Province
is nearly 40 years old. She went to Beijing to appeal in 2000, and in 2001, she
was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor by the Jianli County 610 Office and
the legal section of the Public Security Bureau. She was sent to Brigade 9 of
the Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei and suffered torture. Upon arrival at the labor camp, Ms. Wan Guifang was strip-searched. She was
persecuted for more than two hours as police punched and kicked her, and shocked
her with electric batons. The police inserted the electric baton into her mouth,
causing her lips to crack and bleed and her teeth to loosen. At the same time,
the police also tortured her with electric batons on sensitive parts of her
body. Wan Guifang never gave up her beliefs, and suffered more than one month of
torture, beating and physical punishment. Moreover, the police injected unknown drugs into Wan Guifang, causing her
great mental distress. The labor camp only notified the Jianli County 610 Office
to take Wan Guifang home in order to cover up their crimes. Wan Guifang suffered
from mental illness after returning home, and her husband, children and other
family members have ostracized her. 2. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shuhua and Ms. Liu Yanli
Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials On the night of September 14, 2005, a male Dafa practitioner from Gongzhuling
City rode a motorbike with Ms. Zhang Shuhua (staff member of the Water
Conservancy Bureau) and Ms. Liu Yanli (employee of the Yangdachengzi Town
Jianguo Reservoir) to Changling County and distributed truth-clarification
materials. They were taken away by police from the Qianjin Township Local Police
Station. The male practitioner escaped while still handcuffed, while Ms. Zhang
Shuhua and Ms. Liu Yanli were sent to the Changling County Detention Center. On
the following day, four to five police officers from the State Security Unit of
Changling County searched the home of Liu Yanli, and confiscated two copies of
the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Her family members and
coworkers went to the Changling County Public Security Bureau to request her
release, but were refused by the police. Changling County Public Security Bureau switchboard: 86-438-7222345 3. [Yueyang, Hunan Province] Many Dafa Practitioners Detained Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Songbiao, Mr. Duan Quangui, Ms. Liu Fuxiu, Ms.
Ren Xiyun from Qianlianghu Town, Junshan District, Yueyang, Hunan Province were
arrested on September 12, 2005. Li Songbiao and Duan Quangui were detained at
Yueyang Hubin Detention Center, and Ms. Ren Xiyun was held at Yueyang No. 1
Detention Center. Ms. Dong Ailian, Ms. Xia Huilian, Ms. Cao Meizhen, Ms. Chen and Mr. Yang are
Falun Dafa practitioners from Changling Refinery in Yunxi District, Yueyang were
taken to the Yunxi District Detention Center. 4. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Hu Xinhua Secretly Taken Away by County
610 Office Hu Xinhua, Dafa practitioner from Jianli County, Hubei Province and teacher
of the senior class in Zhuhe High School, was secretly taken away by the County
610 Office on September 4, 2005. She was sent to Hubei Province Legal System
Study Class for forced brainwashing. 5. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Cao Jingdong Detained at Zhaoyuan
County Detention Center On the afternoon of September 5, 2005, Mr. Cao Jingdong, Dafa practitioner
from Chengfeng Village, Daqing City went to the security section of his
workplace, the Installation Company of Daqing Petroleum Administrative Bureau.
He attempted to recover his retirement pension that was being illegally withheld
by his workplace. The head of the security section, Zhu Zunren, colluded with
Zhaoyuan County Public Security Bureau to arrest him. Mr. Cao Jingdong is now
being held at the Zhaoyuan County Detention Center and is on a hunger strike to
protest against the persecution. As many as ten police force-feed him twice a
day. The phone numbers of relevant personnel in security section of Installation
Company of Daqing Petroleum Administrative Bureau: Ms. Huang Zhenchun, 62 years old, is a staff member of Zhenning County Health
Management Station and lives in Xixiu District, Anshun City. Huang Zhenchun went
out to clarify the truth about Falun Gong on July 20, 2005, and she was taken
away by personnel of the Huaxi Office in Xixiu District and sent to the Anshun
City No. 1 Detention Center. Anshun City No. 1 Detention Center: 86-853-3451161 7. [Jianli County, Hubei Province] Peng Hongdao Sentenced to One Year
of Forced Labor Mr. Peng Hongdao, 40 year old, from Zhoutai Village, Wangshi Town, Jianli
County, Hubei Province, went to Beijing to appeal in 2000 and was sentenced to
one year of forced labor. On April 6, 2005 his home was searched and he was
taken away by Zheng Chuanwen, the manager of Gongchang Local Police Station,
instructor Liu and police officers of County 610 Office. Afterwards, he was
sentenced to one year of forced labor without any legal procedure, and is
currently held at brigade 9 of the Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province. 8. [Huaihua, Hunan Province] Luo Jiabin and Jiang Yulian of Hongjiang
District Are Arrested On September 14, 2005, the Hongjiang District Public Security Bureau used
practitioners' relatives and former coworkers in their attempts to deceive
practitioners Luo Jiabin and Jiang Yulian. They deceived everyone into believing
they would allow them to resume their jobs. The two have been destitute because
they had to avoid going home in order to escape persecution. On the September
15, the police arrested them when they returned home. According to reports, on September 16, Luo Jiabin and her two-year-old child
were put into Shaodong Detention Center, and Jiang Yulian is being held at the
Baimalong Labor Camp in Zhuzhou. The politics and security section chief of Hongjiang District Public Security 9. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Zhao Shuqing Arrested by 610 On September 15, 2005, 610 Office personnel of Shulan City, Jilin Province
arrested Mr. Zhao Shuqing, who was working at the Dabei Forestry Bureau. He was
sent to the Xiangshui Reservoir for brainwashing and persecution. Mr. Wang

branch, was arrested at around 8 pm on September 12, 2005. The Nanning 610
Office, National Security Unit, Qingxiu Public Security Sub-bureau, Zhongshan
Local Police Station, security section of Industry and Commerce Bank Guangxi
branch and other departments colluded with each other in arresting Ms. Wang Liya.
Her home was searched, and a computer and a printer were confiscated. Wang Liya
is now being held at the Nanning City No. 2 Detention Center. Wang Liya continued to practice Falun Dafa after July 20, 1999, and as a
result, she was forced to quit her job. Before she was arrested, she worked for
a real estate agent. Relevant responsible people: 11. [Jilin Province] Jiang Zhibin is Arrested Mr. Jiang Zhibin from Jilin City is 44 years old, lives in the Gongju Area,
Gaoxin District, Jilin City, and is an employee of the Jilin City Light Cart
Yard. On the night of September 15, 2005, Jiang Zhibin was taken away by the
Jilin City Dadongmen Police Station for distributing truth-clarification
materials. He is now held at the Jilin City No. 3 Detention Center. Jilin City Dadongmen Police Station: 86-432-2010382 12. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Zhang Jieshan is Critically Ill as a
Result of Torture On March 4, 2004, Mr. Zhang Jieshan of Lishu County, Jilin Province was taken
away by Zhaoyang Local Police Station in Lishu, and sent to Zhaoyanggou Forced
Labor Camp in Changchun, Jilin Province for the second time. Zhang Jieshan's
body is covered with scabies and because of torture, he is critically ill. The
labor camp is afraid to take responsibility for his death, so they have agreed
to release him. However, he cannot be released until the local police arrive to
sign for him and pick him up. However, Zhang Wei, the head of the Zhaoyang Local
Police Station in Lishu, refuses to sign. Zhang Wei, head of the Zhaoyang Local Police Station in Lishu, Jilin
Province: 13. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Practitioners Pang and Meng Arrested
at Nandaihe On the night of August 4, 2005, two practitioners, Pang and Meng, distributed
Falun Gong truth-clarification materials at the seashore of Nandaihe in
Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. They were arrested by policemen Song Zemin,
Song Wenhui and others. The police tied Pang to a metal chair placed in the
center of the room. One of the police went behind Pang, grabbing his hair as he
punched him and cursed at him. The policeman then came around in front of Pang
and while pulling his hair, swung his head from side to side. Large clumps of
the practitioner's hair were pulled out in the process. Meng was cuffed to a
heater pipe in another room. Police hit Meng in the head with his briefcase.
Police also confiscated many Dafa books from Meng's home. Later that same night,
police of the National Security Unit sent the practitioners to a detention
center. 14. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Yuan Mingyuan Sent to Brainwashing
Center In mid-July 2005, Mr. Yuan Mingyuan, a retired staff member of the Sichuan
Province Reproductive Institute, went to a residential area to hand out
truth-clarification materials. He was followed to his home on East Fangcao
Street, and later arrested by police officers and taken to the Chengdu City
Brainwashing Center. 15. [Jianli, Hubei Province] Hu Junhua Sent to Brainwashing Center Mr. Hu Junhua, over 30 years old, is from Jianli, Hubei Province. On
September 5, 2005, he was once again arrested by the county 610 Office, public
security officers and local police while working at Zhuhe High School. Hu Junhua
has been arrested and tortured many times. This time, his workplace paid 20,000
yuan to send Hu Junhua to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center, accompanied by
staff member Liu. Principal of the Zhuhe High School, Zou Song Tao 16. [Huaihua, Hunan Province] Jiang Yulian of Hongjiang No. 2 People's
Hospital Again Detained in Forced Labor Camp Ms. Jiang Yulian and her husband Mr. Luo Jiabin have been destitute a long
time to avoid persecution. In order to achieve the aim of sending Jiang Yulian
to forced labor, the local authorities ordered the Hongjiang No. 2 People's
Hospital to notify her family that she could resume her job. On September 15,
Jiang Yulian and her husband Luo Jiabin returned home, but were immediately
arrested by police. On September 16, 2005, Jiang Yulian was sent to Baimalong Forced Labor Camp
in Zhuzhou, and Luo Jiabin was sent to his hometown of Shaodong for persecution. 17. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested and Sent
to Brainwashing Center Six practitioners from Dongshan District, Guangzhou City, including Mr. Shi
Lei, Ms. Fan Haiqin and Mr. Fan Wei were taken to the brainwashing center in
Guangzhou City Legal System School for torture between September 12 and 13,
2005. 18. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Several Dafa Practitioners Sent to
Brainwashing Center At around noon on September 11, 2005, practitioners Ms. Shen Lichun, Mr. Xu
Youchuan and Ms. Huang Liping were at the home of Shen Lichun, an employee of
the Anhui Institute of Agricultural Sciences. They were reported to authorities
and arrested by policemen of the Bozhou Road Local Police Station led by Wang
Lu, the politics and judiciary committee secretary of Luyang District, Hefei
City and Zhang of the brainwashing center. They are now held for torture in
