Russia: Introducing Falun Dafa and Exposing the Persecution in Pskov City (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On a weekend in mid-August, some Russian practitioners drove to Pskov City to introduce Falun Gong and expose the persecution, and the local people welcomed them.

Pskov City is the capital of Pskov on the western border of Russia. It has a history of nearly one thousand years and is one of the most famous ancient cities in Russia. The goal of the practitioners' trip was to help the residents learn about Falun Dafa.

For various reasons, especially pressure from Chinese Communist Party's overseas agencies, it is typically very difficult for practitioners in Russia to get a permit to hold an event. Here, after several efforts of truth clarification, which dissipated local officials' concerns and misunderstanding based on the CCP's propaganda, practitioners got a permit for this event.

On Saturday, August 13, we held an activity for five hours at a square in the city's center near the Kremlin, an ancient palace in Pskov. Practitioners set up display boards, including photos with the themes "Falun Gong has spread all over the world", "Pictures of cruel torture," and so on. Practitioners divided into several groups: Some practitioners explained the pictures to the passersby in front of the boards, some taught people how to fold paper Lotus Flowers and told them the symbolic meaning of the flowers, some demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises and others distributed materials in places near the square such as the station and market.

From the beginning of the activity to the end, there were a lot of people passing by, because the square is in the center of the city and people have to go through it when going to the biggest local market. Many people thus learned about Falun Gong. Some learned the exercises on the spot, some got further information about cultivation and asked where they could buy Falun Gong books, and some were very concerned about the situation of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China and asked how they could help. People were touched by the peaceful demeanor of the Falun Gong practitioners. They said that there are usually many activities held by various groups in the square, but they had never met such a group of kind, serene people, who sincerely shared their thoughts with others.

One gentleman stayed at the site for a long time. When he was leaving, he insisted on giving the practitioners some fruit he had collected in the wild. A woman said, "I dreamt that I had a lotus flower above my head last night. Today I see that the lotus flower I dreamed of is here." The policeman who was on duty had a cold and wary expression when the activity started, but at the end, he smiled at us and said that he understood that Falun Gong was a very good cultivation practice. Two local newspapers reported on the activity.

After the activity finished and on the following day, the practitioners talked to people and distributed leaflets to some other places in the city and suburbs.
