A New Practitioner: Experiencing the Miracle of Falun Dafa

(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of 1999, after the persecution had begun, my cousin brought her Falun Dafa books to my home and repeatedly told me to keep them in a safe place. She said to take good care of them because they were more important than her life.

Thereafter, she went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was illegally sentenced to four years in prison because she refused to give up her belief. In the winter of 2004, my cousin was released from jail, but her husband could not understand her persistence and divorced her due to the government's pressure. She had no place to live, so I let her stay at my home for some time.

Although my cousin was out of prison, she still could not live a peaceful life and was often monitored and harassed by the police. I was surprised when I saw that she wore very thin clothes during very cold weather and bathed with cold water. I remembered that she had easily fallen ill before she took up Falun Gong. So I asked her, "Aren't you afraid of catching a cold?" She replied to me with a smile, "I have been doing this for several years and never get sick. You should try practicing Falun Gong too."

After listening to her words, I started thinking seriously about this: as a vulnerable woman without a family and freedom, she was still so steadfast in her belief and full of energy after four years of prison. What kind of power was supporting her? What kind of miracle was impelling such a person to endure the sadness and loneliness in her life? Are there any profound things beyond human life? This was beyond my imagination and understanding.

I realized that I should seriously read the book Zhuan Falun again. I had read it in 1998. At that time, I just glanced through it and didn't pay much attention. I just thought that it was fairy tales.

Surprisingly, after I read the book once, I wanted to read it again. I started to have new understandings and felt bright and clear after reading. It seemed that this book had all the answers about human life. I kept reading the book and my mind became relaxed. When things bothered me, I was not pessimistic anymore. I felt that I had unloaded the heavy burden from my shoulders all of a sudden. I realized what the real meaning of a healthy mind and body was. I experienced the miracle of Dafa and naturally wanted to begin my cultivation practice.

I found the book, The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa and learned the five sets of exercises. I often went to the veteran practitioners to share cultivation experiences with them. Several months passed by unnoticeably. One day, I realized that several old illnesses which had always bothered me had disappeared. I was really happy and also thought that it was a miracle.

After nearly a year of cultivation practice, when I looked back, I noticed that the atmosphere in my family had also changed. I no longer face family members with a cold face or frequently argue with them. My addiction to Mahjong had also disappeared. Not only my family life is harmonious, but also the people around me often ask me with surprise, "How come you look younger now?"

I proudly tell them, "It is all because I started to practice Falun Gong." I feel really happy, and very honored and lucky as well.

I also finally understand why my cousin was still full of energy after such a huge tribulation. The miracle I have experienced now is beyond the expression of any language and imagination.
