A Non-Practitioner in China: "Society Needs People Like This"

(Clearwisdom.net) From the viewpoint of a bystander, I want to say something about what is happening in China.

I take pleasure from observing people and life around me. Someone said the Chinese Communist Party forbids people from practicing Falun Gong; they said you should not do that! But others said that the practice is good for health and keeps one fit and heals illnesses. The Falun Gong [truth-clarifying] leaflets around my house state that this practice has cured a lot of people who suffered from various diseases.

At first I did not completely believe it. Does the practice of Falun Gong really have such a miraculous effect? I got to know several Falun Gong practitioners later who told me that what the leaflets said was the truth. They do know some people who had suffered from cancer; after they practiced Falun Gong they were cured. That is what I discovered.

Falun Gong practice can heal. One practitioner told me that people who practice cultivation must value virtue, meaning that a Falun Gong practitioner must be a good person. When he or she encounters troubles, that person must think about other people first, and will not fight back when beaten or sworn at. Practitioners must cultivate their own mindset first; then they can become fit and healthy through cultivation. At first, I could not comprehend these principles. I again asked them, "Why did you go to Beijing [to appeal for justice for Falun Gong]?" They told me that the purpose was to make the central government leaders know the real situation of Falun Gong, which is that practitioners follow the principle of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance). They want to know why the government thinks there is anything wrong with that. Hearing this, I knew that this Dafa is really great. All the Falun Gong practitioners I have known are indeed like this.

I understood then. The communist regime should advocate such a good practice as Falun Gong. It is good for our country, society and families. Those Falun Gong practitioners are so kind, but they are being held in detention and forced labor camps and tortured. What is wrong with this society?

To my knowledge, some Falun Gong practitioners are still being monitored by the authorities. Zhang Fuyin, a miner, is being monitored all day. When he goes to work or out on the street, even when he goes to toilet, those people still tail him. Their actions are in excess of what plainclothes agents do. They said it was the 610 Office and the secretary of their work unit who told them to do that. If they don't follow these orders, they will be financially penalized or even fired. The people in charge of watching Zhang Fuyin are Shi Dongyin, Cao Haifeng, Cui Jianzhong, Liu Baohong, Zhang Liming, Ma Qiusheng, and Yu Shihai who is the Party branch secretary in the Jingyu District. They are required to monitor Zhang Fuyin when he is at work or off work, particularly during festivals and holidays.

All of us have a conscience, and we should not treat Falun Gong practitioners like this. We all know that people have constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of belief. What they do to those practitioners infringes on human rights. Does Yu Shihai, in his capacity as an administrator of an organization, have any acknowledge about the law, or does he willingly betray his conscience to do this?

Although I don't practice Falun Gong, I want to speak some just words for Falun Gong. Our country needs people like Falun Gong practitioners, our society needs people like them, and the world we live in also needs those kind people who believe in Zhen-Shan-Ren. That is my opinion as a bystander.
