Additional Persecution News from China - January 1, 2006 (10 Reports)

On October 10, 2005, local police illegally arrested practitioner Ms. Yu Fuzhao. Her home was also illegally searched. She was brutally tortured for several days and was then sent to the Chengdu City Detention Center. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was savagely beaten by members of the 610 Office and lost consciousness. When she was sent back to her room, she was covered with cuts and bruises. There were no uninjured spots on her body. Even the inmates who were detained in the same room couldn't recognize her. Fearing that she might die from the torture, the 610 Office secretly transferred her to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center in Sichuan Province during the night.

Yu Fuzhao continued the hunger strike while at the brainwashing center. She was again savagely beaten by members of the 610 Office and was force-fed. They violently inserted the force-feeding tube into her, tearing her esophagus, which led to her vomiting blood. Now Yu Fuzhao is at the verge of death. She has frequently lost consciousness, urinated blood, and has lost control of her bladder.

Practitioner Hu Jinyan, 52, previously worked for an alcohol plant in Changle County, Shandong Province. Because of his steadfast belief in Falun Dafa, in October 2000, he was illegally sentenced to three years of imprisonment. Three months after his original sentence was up, in January 2004, he was finally released. During his detention, in February 2002, his wife, Mrs. Guo Sufen, was also illegally sentenced to seven years of imprisonment for distributing truth-clarification materials. She is now detained at the Women's Prison in Jinan City. They left behind an over-80-year old mother and two young daughters.

After his release, Hu Jinyan continued to practice and to tell people the truth about Falun Gong. On November 16, 2005, the county 610 Office arrested him again. He was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor and is currently detained at Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

On December 29, 2005, while practitioner Ms. Tao Weixiang, from Wenquan, Xianning, Hubei Province, was at home, policemen from the Xianning City National Security Brigade and Chalukou Police Station took the room key from her husband and illegally searched her room. They confiscated a copy of the book Zhuan Falun and arrested her.

On December 17, 2005, practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiurong and Mr. Su Derong, from Suining City, Sichuan Province, were arrested when they were telling people the truth about Falun Gong. The next day, their homes were illegally searched. They are currently being detained at Yongxing Detention Center in Suining City.

At around 11:00 p.m. on July 19, 2005, practitioner Ms. Song Xiuyun, from Houhaixi Village, Jihongtan Township, Chengyang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, was arrested at her home by police. Three hours later, she was illegally sent to the Jinan Forced Labor Camp.

Practitioner Ms. Han Yinghua, 35, teaches at the Suliucun Kindergarten on Hongniao Street, Chengyang District, Qingdao City. At around noon on February 28, 2005, shortly after she got home from work, policemen from Chengyang District and Hongniao Township Police Station arrested her. Her home was also searched.

On December 25, 2005, the Shanghai City Second Middle Court decided to uphold the original decision by Qingpu Court in late September against 3 practitioners, Ms. Wu Aizhong, Ms. Zhang Hui and Ms. Liu Lan. This decision was reached without a trial. Wu Aizhong, Zhang Hui and Liu Lan were sentenced to 7.5 years, 3 years and 7.5 years of imprisonment respectively.

On December 13, 2005, Practitioner Ms. Bi Xiuhua, from Wujin Village, Taolaizhao Township, Fuyu County, Jilin Province, was illegally arrested, and her home was illegally searched as a result of her brother-in-law's reporting her.

Practitioner Ms. Ju Guilian, 57, is a retired teacher. On December 14, 2005, police officers from Laozhan Police Station in Tonghua City illegally searched her home, and Dafa books were confiscated. She was illegally arrested and was sent to the Changliu Detention Center in Tonghua City on December 15.

On December 13, 2005, several policemen, including Zhangjun and Li Guoqing from Tuanjie Police Station, illegally arrested over 60-year old practitioner Ms. Li Guofen. She was then sent to the Changliu Detention Center in Tonghua City. At the detention center, Li Guofen showed symptoms of severe high blood pressure. She left the detention center the next day with righteous thoughts.

Practitioner Ms. Qu Xiuchen, from Ziping City, Shandong Province, works for the Qiqing Railway Zibo section. On June 18, 2005, she was illegally detained by police officers from Zibo City Police Department. Several other practitioners were also detained at the same time. Her family asked to visit her many times, but their requests were denied.
