The Persecution of Ms. Zhou Zi and Ms. He Xinping in Beijing Women's Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) The Beijing Women's Prison is a part of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. Many female practitioners have been illegally detained there because they insist on being good people and following Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.

Practitioner Ms. Zhou Zi was a teacher from the Beijing Instrument Technology College. She was also a model teacher in the Fengshen area for twenty years. In January 2000, she was forced to quit that job because she insisted on practicing Falun Gong and in July 2000, she was illegally detained for a month for practicing the exercises outdoors. In January 2001, Ms. Zhou Zi was illegally arrested on the way to Tiananmen Square and detained for two weeks. In May 2001, she left home to avoid being arrested. On March 27, 2003, she was illegally sentenced to 7 and a half years imprisonment by the Haidian Court. She has been detained in the Tenth District Prison, which is known as the "death prison."

Ms. Zhou Zi was confined to a solitary compartment. Being confined in a solitary compartment refers to locking up a single detainee in a solitary cell, which contains a basin and a pair of handcuffs. The basin is used for washing and for relieving the bowels. One end of the handcuffs is fastened to the wrist and the other end to the door railing. The handcuffs can be fastened to the door railing at three different heights. In the highest position, the detainee has to extend his or her arm upward. The middle position is at waist level. In the lowest position, the detainee can sit on the ground. The prison guards in the Tenth District Prison instigated the criminal inmates and some former practitioners to beat Ms. Zhou Zi up and threaten her. She was not allowed to go to sleep for long periods of time, and was tied up for a long time. She was also not allowed to see her parents for a year. At present she is confined in a solitary compartment, and her parents are not allowed to visit her.

Practitioner Ms. He Xinping, 45, was a country official who lived in Nongguangdong Town, Zhaoyang Area, Beijing. In September 2001, she was illegally held in custody for appealing to the government. On September 15 she was granted bail to await trial. In October 2001 she left home and was arrested on February 26, 2002. On March 27, 2003, she was sentenced to seven and a half years imprisonment by Haidian Court. She has been detained for four and a half years. Not long ago, her husband passed away from poor health and mental and physical suffering. Her young child is left without both parents and proper care.

There are many persecution cases like these and the practitioners in the Beijing Women's Prison are suffering brutal torture each day.
