Taiwan: Judicial Reform Foundation Supports CIPFG Investigation of Persecution of Falun Gong (Photos) By a Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) The Judicial Reform Foundation (JRF) in Taiwan made an
announcement last week in support of an investigation by the Coalition to
Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG). Chief Executive of the JRF, attorney Kao Yung-cheng stated, that
as a human rights organization concerned with justice, especially judicial
justice, the JRF would not sit by regarding any human rights violation. They
said an investigation is needed to reveal a clear picture of the persecution of
Falun Gong by the CCP. The JRF supports the investigation. The CIPFG is composed of people with a sense of justice from all around the
world, who come together to participate in or provide help to investigate the
persecution of Falun Gong in China. The goal of the coalition is to unite all
interested parties to conduct a thorough and independent investigation, to
uncover the truth about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong,
in particular the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners in
secret concentration camps, prisons, labor camps, detention centers,
brainwashing centers, psychiatric hospitals, hospitals and all other relevant
facilities. The evidence will be collected both inside and outside Mainland
China for the purpose of ending this brutal persecution of millions of innocent
people, which has already lasted for seven years. Mr. Kao said the JRF is a human rights organization. One of its missions is
to safeguard human rights, especially human rights in the judicial field. They
certainly support the CIPFG investigation of human rights violations of such an
inhuman and unjust regime as the CCP. They believe a regime that tramples on
human rights won't last long. Mr. Kao said that the JRF is in close contact with the Taiwan Bar
Association. Most lawyers in Taiwan support such an investigation. He said they
would discuss the issue and see what they could do to help. The Health Department announced in mid-August that doctors are not allowed to
intermediate organ transplant overseas. Those who violate the regulation will be
punished. Dr. Cai Mengkun of Taiwan University Hospital pointed out that this
regulation declared Taiwan's stance of condemning the inhuman atrocity of organ
harvesting from living people. It also prevents the medical field of Taiwan from
assisting in the CCP's crime. Regarding the view of patients having the right to receive organ transplants
overseas due to the shortage of the domestic organ supply, Dr. Kao thinks the
government should promote the universal value of humanity. Having money and
resources doesn't mean it is alright to buy organs harvested from unwilling
living people. Administrations can tell people that such conduct is condemned
internationally. It is an issue of humanitarianism. From attorney Kao's professional point of view, individuals who knowingly go
for such transplant or solicit for it should bear the legal responsibility. He stressed that if the CIPFG could find people in other areas (than Mainland
China) who arrange for people overseas to get transplants in China, especially
if the accomplice knows the source of the organs, and if the accomplice is from
Taiwan, he could be sued and punished. Posting date: 10/15/2006
