By a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) A fellow practitioner's husband died in a car accident recently while on a business trip. He was only in his forties. I went to visit her and noticed her serenity. She told me her husband's boss had not notified her of the bad news right away. He had only said her husband was injured and asked her to visit him. On their way, she took the opportunity to tell him the truth of Falun Dafa and persuaded him to renounce the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and affiliated organizations. As a result, he renounced his membership in the Youth League. When she saw her husband's body and his severe head injuries she couldn't help crying, but soon realized that she is a cultivator. She knew she must not fall into the old forces' trap. Those old dark minions want practitioners to lose their minds and ruin them in the end. She understood from the Fa that the old forces are not just testing Dafa practitioners; they are truly trying to drag practitioners down.

The practitioner became immediately calm and decided to use the opportunity of her husband's sudden death to offer more sentient beings salvation. She persuaded all her relatives, neighbors, her husband's friends, classmates, colleagues and superiors who came to express their condolences to renounce the CCP.

I think this example demonstrates the difference between Dafa practitioners and ordinary people. What Dafa practitioners think about amidst the pain of losing a family member is not of themselves, but rescuing more sentient beings. This cannot be achieved without steadfast belief in Master and Dafa. I truly admire this practitioner's capacity to show all people the kindness and compassion of Dafa practitioners.

This fellow practitioner is like a mirror for me, showing my attachments and shortcomings. I have been cultivating for a decade; however, sometimes I still can't concentrate while studying the Fa, and can't remember what I just read. Other times I can't stay focused while sending forth righteous thoughts, or don't pay enough attention to sending forth righteous thought while encouraging people to renounce the CCP. I am still working on myself, to eliminate the interference of feeling sleepy and the pursuit of comfort.

This practitioner didn't let any opportunity go by to offer sentient beings salvation; however, I have let many opportunities slip by. She could persuade people to renounce the CCP with a few sentences; however, I can barely get people to renounce their CCP membership, even after talking a lot. To date, I still have many relatives and friends who haven't yet renounced the CCP.

The incident related about this practitioner made me realize anew the importance of serious Fa study, and that I need to correct my starting point for doing the three things, and try harder to rescue more sentient beings.

My old age, scant education and poor writing skills kept me from writing an article at first, but this practitioner's story has truly moved me. I wanted to write something to motivate more fellow practitioners.

Let's all remember Master's teachings and make good use of our time to do well the three things, be more diligent on our cultivation path, and never stop.
