My Mom is Practicing Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) It has been more than seven years since my mother started practicing Falun Gong. I have deeply felt the wonders of Falun Dafa during those years, and have come to understand that the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are guiding people toward goodness, and helping people ascend to higher levels.

My mother is a diligent housewife. Working day and night had made her ill. She became bedridden from herniated discs in her spine. During the days of her most severe illness, a lot of housework was not taken care of. We ate our three daily meals at kindhearted neighbors or relatives' homes. Our home wasn't a home at all then. We had taken Mom to many doctors, tried many methods and spent a lot of money. None of these had improved her health. Seeing her ever-deteriorating health, we wished we could take some of her physical suffering on ourselves. What could make Mom become well again?

In the spring of 1999 someone introduced Mom to Falun Gong and said that as long as she persisted in practicing the exercises and following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, to be a good person, she could become healthy. From then on Mom followed the Falun Gong cultivation path. Our family initially thought it couldn't hurt and was worth a try, and we only worried that Mom's condition might prevent her from practicing the exercises.

A miracle happened. In only a week, Mom was fully recovered and could work as quickly as before! Our home finally returned to normal. This wonderful practice had me convinced!

As Mom was practicing Falun Gong, I found her character changing quite a bit -- she became more genial, and our family became more and more harmonious. Mom often taught me to treat others nicely, to learn to tolerate others, and she told me that when conflicts arise, I should look at others' merits and look at my own shortcomings, so as to meet the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This has given me a new perspective on life.

Seven years have passed quickly. Mom has been persistent with her cultivation practice all along. Although the wicked Party has never ceased its persecution of Falun Dafa, it has never been able to change my mom's faith during these years. She believes that one day sooner or later, the world's people will awaken. Her steadfastness has convinced me that sooner or later, the seeds for Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance will be planted in everyone's heart, and everyone will stand up against the persecution and stand up for justice.
