Austria derStandard Reports UN Rapporteur Investigates CCP’s Live Organ Harvesting

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 26, derStandard, one of the three mainstream newspapers in Austria, carried a report from the Austria News Agency about Falun Gong practitioners being killed for organ harvesting and transplantation.

The report stated that the UN Human Rights Commission pays attention to the issue of the CCP killing and harvesting practitioners’ organs. Austria’s Manfred Nowak, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture will investigate the severe allegations.

The article introduced the "Report into Allegations of Organ Harvesting of Falun Gong Practitioners in China" by David Kilgour, former Secretary of State (Asia-Pacific) for Canada, and David Matas, international human rights lawyer. The report has been forwarded to many UN officials and departments, including the Special Rapporteur on Torture, Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief, and Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.

The report referred to Mr. Matas’s words on Tuesday in Geneva, where he said that the CCP regime’s response was disappointing, did not rebut the allegations, and was abusive.

The article pointed out at the end that organ trade is highly profitable in China. The demand from Taiwan and Hong Kong is very high, with the cost of a kidney transplant at $62,000, a liver for $130,000, a lung for $150,000 and a heart for $160,000.
