Ms. Ding Guixiang, 70, from Jilin Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ding Guixiang from Lishu County, Jilin Province had been detained multiple times, threatened for many years, and harassed repeatedly. She died on August 27, 2006.

Ms. Ding Guixiang, 71, lived in Xiaochengzi Town, Lishu County, Jilin Province. Prior to 2002, she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was twice taken to and detained in Lishu County Detention Center by the local Xiaochengxi Police Station.

Upon her release prior to 2002, Ms. Ding was forced to become homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home. She was reported when posting a hand-written banner that said "Falun Dafa is Good." She was forcibly taken to and detained in Gongzhuling Prison for ten months without any legal justification.

After Ms. Ding was released, local police continually came to her door to harass and threaten her. Once a police officer found a younger lady's clothes in her house. The police officer tried to force the old lady to say that clothes belonged to a younger fellow practitioner, and tried to make her provide the name. Ms. Ding did not cooperate with the police officer's abhorrent actions. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and served her term in Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp located in Changchun City when she was nearly 70 years old.

Due to the length of time she was mistreated, threatened, and tortured, Ms. Ding Guixiang died on August 27, 2006.
