The Attachment of Pride and Contentment Blocking Our Diligent Advancement

(Clearwisdom.net) Once, I was sharing my experiences with a fellow practitioner from out of town. I was very satisfied with our region's truth clarifying work and said, "Our region is doing very well." I did not detect the hidden attachment until I had heard many other fellows repeatedly say the same thing. I realized that our collective body had deviated thoughts, and our truth clarifying materials were being passed out less and less.

I once was discussing with another coordinator, one who coordinated more than 100 practitioners. She said that only 20% of the people were involved in truth clarifying work, and among them some are clarifying the truth by word of mouth or writing letters, and only a few people were passing out truth-clarifying materials. I asked her if she thought this was the right state. She said that it was only natural due to the fact that in the past several years, most places have already had truth clarifying materials passed out. If we passed out too many, the quality would be reduced. I asked another coordinator who coordinated nearly 200 people. He said that his group also did not need many truth clarifying materials because they had passed out the Nine Commentaries to nearly every household, and the truth clarifying materials have basically "saturated" the area.

"Our region is doing very well." "We are saturated." How many attachments are hiding behind these words? Spurred by fellow practitioner's exchanged insights, I found severe prideful and showing off mentalities. I put myself in a position where I was close to reaching Consummation, which is really dangerous thinking. I recall in 2001 when I went to Beijing to validate the Fa, and I came back without any problems. From not clearly understanding Dafa's principles and not cultivating solidly, I grew prideful. I thought that my big test was passed, and that I did not have as many attachments. I slacked off, departed from the Fa, and almost fell to an ordinary person's level within two years. I paid a heavy price for that lesson.

As long as a cultivator has not completely reached Consummation, one must be prepared to walk a long and narrow path. We cannot be satisfied with our accomplishments and slow down on our way to diligently advancing and saving sentient beings.

The persecution has not ended, and time is pressing. We must seize the day, cultivate ourselves well, and try to save more beings. I do not mean to be attached to the quantity of passed out truth clarifying materials. I felt that we lack a sense of urgency when it comes to saving sentient beings. Spreading the truth by word-of-mouth is good, and writing letters is also good, but at the same time, we should not neglect the importance of the truth clarifying materials. As Master's Fa-rectification process progresses, our truth clarifying materials are continually being updated, and they are very helpful in cleaning out the CCP's poison from people's minds. The Minghui Weekly can especially help people to accept the truth, and we should not stop delivering them or skip even a week. The recent booklets are compiled very well. If each practitioner can pass out several each day, our kindness can be very effective in saving people.
