(Clearwisdom.net) The Seventh annual Yung-an Grouper Culture Fair in
Kaohsiung County took place on November 18-19, 2006. In order to celebrate the
persistence and purity of the local culture in this two-day event, various folk
arts were showcased, and the organizer invited Falun Gong practitioners to
perform an exercise demonstration. This gave the local people and tourists an
opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Falun Gong. Yung-an is a small coastal township located in the western part
of Kaohsiung County, known as the "Township of the Grouper." Besides the Falun Gong exercise demonstration, tourists were also attracted
by the traditional-style fair section, the ecology of the grouper exhibit and
local folk arts exhibit, as well as stage performances and fireworks in the
evening. The organizer specially arranged for the Falun Gong exercise demonstration to
be held at noon, the busiest hour of the fair on Sunday, November 19. Before the
demonstration, to help the audience better understand Falun Gong, practitioners
distributed materials and introduced the facts of the persecution and the
Chinese Communist regime's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners
for profit in China. The head of the township also came to watch the
practitioners' exercise demonstration.
