Taiwan: Falun Gong Practitioners Attend Parade in Chiayi (Photos)
By Jin Ding
(Clearwisdom.net) On November 21, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from
Chiayi were invited to perform waist drums in the parade in Dalin Town. A gold
banner reading "Falun Dafa" led the waist drum troupe. Spectators were
all attracted to the performance. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Dalin Elementary School, the
local government held many activities. One of them is the parade. One waist
drummer said that there are many Falun Dafa waist drum groups in Taiwan, and
their performances are wonderful, so local practitioners wanted to set one up
too. Last December, the local practitioners invited a practitioner from Tainan
to teach them to play. Since then, they practice every Sunday. A few months
later, they were good enough to perform. They have performed in Yunlin, Tainan,
and Kaohsiung. Practitioners were very happy to be invited to perform in such a small town.
The parade lasted for two hours. An older practitioner said that he didn't feel
tired. He said: "The purpose of setting up a waist drum team is to use the
performance as a tool to spread Falun Dafa. Our performance was very welcome
here, and we brought the beauty of Falun Dafa to the local people too."
